He was gone.
I swam to Luna and Jake quickly.
Luna! Jake! Watch out! I screeched.
It was too late. I watched as the wave hurled forward and crashed on top of them.
"Parker! Luna and Jake went under!"
I dove down and saw them.
Quickly pulling them up I put Luna on my back while Parker took Jake. Then the blaring sound of the alarms started. We decided to keep swimming to the pier.
Come on! We are almost there!
I could see it, the old brown pier. I don't think I could ever look at it the way I did before. It was a sign we were going to make it. The last thing I remember were the lifeguards jumping in the water, risking their lives, to save ours.
I woke in a hospital near Tokyo. I looked to my left and right and saw Luna, Jake and Parker. There is no one else I would have rather been with.
Hours later a nurse walked in our room and said it was a miracle we were alive. I asked if the lifeguards found Carter, they said no.
When we got back to the U.S. tons of people surrounded us upon our arrival. Seconds from getting off the plane I saw a glimpse of my family.
