Warning: spoilers from Island of Graves/Dragons
Kaylee Jones was excited to be back on the Island of Shipwrecks. No longer was it a horrid island with a never-ending hurricane, it was now a beautiful island with an abundance of trees and plants. Alex had used some sort of magic to stop the hurricane, giving lots of sunshine but regular rain to the island. The idea of magic still confused her quite a but, but Kaylee was grateful for the upgrade.
She was excited for her new adventure. She traveled from Artimé back to the island of shipwrecks with the 3 Japanese scientists and Aaron. Aaron. The thought of him made her stomach flutter, like there were butterflies.
She and Aaron had grown tremendously close over the past few weeks. Kaylee could only see the good in him; defeating Gondoleery, bringing Simber back to life, and his numerous clever designs.
Kaylee Jones currently sat on the sand on the Island of Shipwrecks, looking far out into the horizon, where an unnatural waterfall lay. She remembered riding it that fateful day in her sailboat, and sighed. She really missed home.
She wanted to walk down the streets in her hometown, past all the shops and restaurants she had come to know and love. She wanted to hang out with her friends, she yearned to see her family again. She missed McDonald's, Beyoncé music, and her iPhone.
She tried hard, but she couldn't hold back the tears. They were streaming down her face in a matter of seconds, and she hastily wiped them away when she heard footsteps behind her.
"Hey, are you alright?"
Kaylee's heart fluttered when she heard the voice.
His voice.
Aaron.
"Uh, not really, " she replied.
"What is bothering you?" Aaron asked as he sat down next to her. (I always imagine Aaron talking very formally idk if you guys do too)
Kaylee didn't speak for a second. She was so caught up in the different emotions that were swirling inside her. She was frozen.
"I miss...home," She finally answered.
Aaron gently wrapped his arms around her. "I know how you feel. I felt so out of place back in Artimé, but here is where I belong, with Ishibashi, Ito, Sato, and you."
Kaylee blushed at his last sentence. She definitely felt out of place in Artimé, having no understanding of magic whatsoever.
Suddenly, she felt a slight urge, pushing her in towards Aaron. To both their surprise, Kaylee lay a small kiss on Aaron's lips. She instantly pulled away, turning as red as a tomato and avoiding eye contact.
Aaron surprised Kaylee by gently pulling her closer again and kissing her for much longer than the first time. They both had a new feeling swell deep within them, they knew they had found the right person, the right match.
Ishibashi watched the young love with a huge smile on his face from the entrance to their shelter. He was proud of Aaron for his change, for finding his inner applecorn.
Everyone on the Island of Shipwrecks was happy that night; and their joyfulness continued throughout the days as they rebuilt the island and grew closer together.
