AOL Chapter 5

Miguel’s POV

I’m still a bit curious of how amazed Alpha was when she saw me without my glasses on. Was I really that lolo-like kapag naka eyeglasses? Geez. And because I want to know if she’ll still have the same reaction so I went to school wearing contact lenses. It was my second time using contacts, first noong pinilit ako ng ate ko during JS Prom noong 4th year.

I saw girls gluing their eyes on me by the time I stepped in the school. I know I’m handsome but.. please. Alam kong hindi sila sanay sa new look ko. “Dre, gwapo natin ngayon ah!” Jerome approached me with a high five. “Gago, matagal na akong gwapo.” I bragged. He just laughed. Since grade school pa kami magbest friends nitong si Jerome kaya kilalang kilala na niya ako at ganoon din ako sa kanya. At dahil magbest friends nga kami we both took the same course.

“Have you seen Sam? Magffinal practice pa kasi kami eh.” Nako alam ko na ‘tong mga ganito. Halatang type si Samantha. “Major subject nila ngayon ni Alpha dre.” Oo alam ko. Kasi nga memorize ko ‘yung class schedule ni Alpha right? Jerome just shot me a curious look. “And how did you know?” This dude won’t leave me ‘til I tell him the truth. I sighed.

“Look, remember the monstress I told you? The one who crashed my UP dream? She’s Alpha that I was pertaining to.” Shock is an understatement in Jerome’s face. Napa “WTF! Seriously?” nalang siya. Tumango lang ako. “So you dislike her from the get-go? And that’s the reason why you enrolled your freaking minor subjects in other sections right?” Tumango ulit ako. “Dude you’re brilliant. Just brilliant.” He said with great amusement.

I headed to the library to finish my term paper when somebody just cling her hands into my left arm. “Hi Migz!” Si Chelsea pala, classmate ko sa major subject ko. Nginitian ko lang siya ng tipid. “Pwede ba akong magpaturo sa’yo ng assignment natin? Medyo nahirapahan ako ng konti doon sa thermodynamics eh.” Magrrefuse na sana ako when she pouted and begged me for a yes. At dahil naawa ako tinuruan ko siya. Sabi din kasi ni mama huwag daw ipagdamot ang knowledge.

I sensed that she has learned what I taught her very fast. Sa bagay matalino naman siya sa klase namin. Medyo may pagka maharot nga lang. Napasarap ata ang pag-eexplain ko sa kanya nang hindi ko namalayan ang oras. It’s 12:45. Naku kelangan pa naman naming manghiram ng costumes ni Alpha! I excused myself to Chelsea na nakapulupot pa rin sa’kin. Tatayo na sana ako nang makita ko si Alpha na nasa harap na pala ng table namin.

“So you want to sit there and flirt the whole afternoon and wait for an INC do you?” She said in crossed-arms. Ako naman, parang nahuli ng asawa na nangangaliwa. “I-Im sorry Alpha I didn’t notice the time.” I explicated. “I don’t fucking care!” She blurted her heart out. All the people inside the library are now gazing at us. “This is a library. Be angry outside.” Sita ng librarian namin. “Why are you mad Miss? You don’t own Miguel.” Sabat naman ni Chelsea. “At ikaw babaeng tuko, do you think you own him? Shut your mouth or else I’ll rip your esophagus!” Potcha Alpha bakit ba ang talas ng bibig mo? And she walked out of the library after threatening Chelsea.

 Mukha namang mas natuwa pa si Chelsea nang makitang umuusok sa galit si Alpha. “Yaan mo ‘yun Migz baby. Sabayan mo nalang akong maglunch.” I get rid of her hands. “Chels I’m not your baby and sorry I have to go see Alpha. Happy lunch.” Kalmado ka pa ding sabi sabay alis ng lib.

Nang makita ko sa Alpha agad ko siyang nilapitan. “Why did you react like that? That place is supposed to be G-rated and you were making a scene!” Hindi ko mapigilang magtaas ng boses. Nagngitngit naman ang mata niya. “The word came from you Mr. Mariano. That place is G-rated. So how could you flirt while I was aging waiting for you? See? We both made a scene.” She said in a most sarcastic and angry tone.
