6 Year Gap

Intro

I wake up with the sound of water dripping from the ceiling of the cave. The smell of rain water fills my nose and I can hear the crackling of the fire nearby.
I am about to open my eyes when I feel Jakes stare sizing me up. He still does this even though ive told him not to, I close my eyes tighter pretending to sleep all the while trying to remember.
I remeber how bright the sun could be, what it was like to hear the chirping of birds and the honking of cars that were passing by the street. I remember conversations, long and loud, some soft and short, but all full of color, colors I cant hear anymore.

But before I let that sadness swallow me I remeber again and listen in my head, I hear Bella's laugh and imagine Frankie's scowl.

Most of all I try to remember him. His touch, his breath in my neck. How he whispered sweet nothings in my ear and how he could assure me that everything was alright. It is almost like a game, a game where you try to remember before time makes you forget.
Then I hear the roaring and Inknow I can't pretend any longer. I open my eyes with Jake's legs in front of me.
"Sorry" he mutters, "I was about to wake you."
I sit up. "What is it this time?"
He looks toward the opening of the cave, brown eyes squinting to get a better look."It seems to be a T - Rex, I'm not sure. We better go see if it's neared the base"
I grab my stuff and head towards the opening as well "I guess we'll find out."
He hands me the gun as I reach him.

I close my eyes for a second trying to remember all I can before I step into the dim sunlight this planet has to offer.
