The post-modern city of New Edinburgh was born the day that the Third Great War ended.Capitalists and Real Estate Developers were on the scene and greedily buying everything up for pennies on the dollar (shillings on the pound) before the dust even settled on the ruined bones of the old city. A year to the day that WWIII ended, the city of New Edinburgh celebrated it's Grand Opening.
Claiming the desire to "preserve" the ruins of the old city, the Builders of the New City built over, around, and on-top of the devastation caused by the War. The New City was a glimmering futuristic nightmare of awkward spirals and towering boxes that sat on top of the past like a wild and unwieldy carapace of steel and glass on the back of some giant dying beetle strewn between the hills and the sea.
The roots of this place go way, way back. According to mainstream archaeologists, the earliest known settlement in the area was established nearly 9 thousand years before Christ. The truth is, they aren't even close. The mythical hill, now commonly called Author's Seat, has been a sacred mount for the people living in the region going back four times longer than "science" has estimated.
These ancient times are shrouded in mystery, obscured by the veils of mythos, and buried under the rubble of World War III
Evaline grew up in the shadow of that war. She grew up hard, and fast, and on her own terms.
This is her story.
