"Yoki?" Lance tapped the short girl's shoulder.
Yoki had jet black hair that was always styled in a short ponytail that didn't reach her shoulders by about four inches. She was very gorgeous though, no one could deny that. She had a pinkish-palish skin complexion
with slanted eyes and tight cheekbones. She was also very thick in the legs and her tummy was a bit 'out.' Yoki was not fat though, nowhere near. Every guy in school would practically swoon over her. I remember her bragging about breaking such a standard amongst the school crowd - and I even believed that she literally melted gold and created herself a trophy. She gets ideas, tons of ideas."What?" She groaned, keeping her eyes fixated on the little blonde kid taunting her brother.
"Do you wanna just take Dawn to the swing set down there?" Lance pointed behind us.
Lance was very handsome, but he lacked the capability of being a ladies' man just like me. He excelled in no sport or after school activities. A loner? That he was, well just with everyone besides us. It was a miracle that we broke him out of his shell. Yoki and I saw him banging his head against a locker one back to school night and..Yeah. Lance was about half an inch taller than me. He had fair skin with a dirty-blonde quiff. Though he doesn't like to tell anybody, he wears blue contacts to cover his brown eyes. For someone who was a loner, he sure did think he was Zac Efron.
"And let a bully think he won? Nope. I dealt with kids like him before. Kids? They pick on other kids. But when they see older people, they coward down because they know their position." Yoki smirked.
Before either of us could retort, Yoki was already halfway towards the playground. Her brother, Dawn, was hiding his face behind both of his hands. The bully, a kid who had a group of stupid peers behind him, looked like he was probably in fifth grade. Dawn was in fifth grade as well.
Yoki shoved the kids on both sides out of her way. Tapping the main bully's shoulder, he turned around to be greeted with a very stern face. Yoki stood taller than this kid by a few inches. Half of the kids here were just about her height - and we totally make fun of her because of that.
"Can I help you?" The boy said. He obviously wasn't gonna back down.
"Yeah. You can go play with action figures and stop bullying my little brother." She scoffed.
"Sorry chick. You're in our territory." The boy folded his arms, his peers doing the same.
"And how is this your territory? Uh, did you construct it? Pay for it? You're in no monarchy, sweet pea. Your guardian would hate to see you trying to bring others down, don't ya think?" Yoki looked back at us, giving us a stare that clearly meant she wanted us to come back her up.
We nodded in unison. With Lance behind me, we began to walk up behind Yoki. Though we were outnumbered by the little minions, we were way taller. I placed an arm on Yoki's shoulder. Lance folded his arms with a smirk on his face. One redheaded boy out of the five minions gave a quick shudder but was quickly nudged by the darker toned boy beside him. The leader of this little elementary clan looked at me with a sneer of disgust.
"These your allies? Get better goons. You could've did this alone." The idiot laughed, making his robotic crew laugh as well.
"I'll find all of your guardians. Bet. And I'll do it now." Yoki began to back up slowly, resulting in Lance and I backing up per each step she took so we didn't get bumped into.
Dawn took that as his chance to dart past the crew. The main bully tried to clutch the hem of Dawn's shirt, but he was too quick. He ran straight into Yoki's arms. She wrapped a protective arm around his shoulder.
"We're the Klemens, and we have NO guardians." They all said in a possessed-like unison. "Don't cross us again, Yoki Jhe."
"Let's get out of here." She muttered to us.
The four of us began to walk away from the super creepy children. Yoki didn't dare remove her arm from Dawn. He shot a fearful stare back at the kids before tapping Yoki's shoulder. Yoki hushed him. Lance and her both had stern faces - I assumed they were trying to process what just happened. My brain seriously couldn't cope with all of the awkwardness and high tension. Did we seriously just get ran off by little kids? How did he know her name? Why did he stare at me like I was a walking disease? Why didn't these little kids have guardians? So many questions, and I knew none would be answered. Deep down inside, I felt as if that she was probably gonna take all of this information to the police station once her mom gets off work.
I sighed to myself at the weird silence among all of us as we walked out of the park territory. When I get home, I seriously need to ask my mom about the beach. I knew it'd be a long distance to get back home, but mom said the exercise was good. Even if it was more than a mile..Why's she so hard on me? Lance seemed to be reading my mind. Apparently these two had a detector when it came to me thinking of my mother. Lance placed an arm on my shoulder before moving it to my back to give me a light rub.
"Thanks." I muttered, looking at him then Dawn.
This kid was definitely beyond scared.
