Chapter One
Nathan wasn't that bad. He was much much worse. I've been at his white, bungalow house for ten minutes and I'm already ready to tear my hair out. "Nathan! Will you please come and sit your ass down so we can start your homework?" The only answer I hear was laughter coming from his room upstairs. When he opened the front door ten minutes earlier, I thought this could actually work. With his green eyes and welcoming smile, I thought he was such an angel.
Man, was I wrong. As soon as I sat down the dining room table and took my stuff out of my bad, he bolted from the room with an "I'll be right back" and ten freaking minutes later, he still wasn't back.
It also didn't help that I didn't get any low down on what his personality was like.
I scream in frustration and trudge up the stairs. The happy family photos around the walls seem to mock me as I go. I reach the first door on the right and assume it's his from all the noise coming and kick it open.
"What the-" Nathan was sprawled on the bed holding a wii remote with an expression that was almost laughable if wasn't so mad.
"What the heck happened to 10 minutes?!" I scream at him. I walk up to him while kicking away books-which I fail to notice were classics- on the floor and take the remote.
I take it, turn the game off and cross my arms in front of me, facing him. I found him smirking at me. "You lool cute when you're angry" Argh. The nerve of this dude.
I step closer, planning to twist his ear and drag him downstairs with it when I felt someone grab my waist and pull me down.
"What are you-" The next thing I knew I was looking down at Nathan's green orbs and lying face front against his chest. I scramble to get up and push my hands against his chest when he tigthens his hold on me. "No. Dont be like that princess. I thought we can have a little bit of fun." His voice was right by my ear and I felt his hands start moving down. I reacted and knee him in the balls.
"Owwww!" He yelped in pain. "What the fuck was that for?" I look at him like he was crazy. "That was for being a pervert." I point out. And this, I twist his ear; "-is for being a lazy ass and not coming down."
"You know this is physical harassment?" I faked a shock expression. "Omg Nathan please don't say anything. I don't want to go to jail." I mock in my most girly high voice.
"If you weren't being such a douche bag right now, I wouldn't have had to hit you."
"If you weren't so serious, you'd see this as fun." He counters. I scowl at him and cross my arms. "If you're not down in five minutes, I'll make sure you're grounded for the rest of the month." With that, I walk out of his room and slam the door. I hear him shout that I couldn't do that and smirk. I totally can. His mom would do anything I tell her even if its grounding her precious son.
I look at the pictures around me and see a young Nathan scowling between a young version of his mom and a man who must be his dad. He looked so...different from the Nathan that I was faced with now. He actually looked serious and someone who I would have gotten along with now. The playful look was not there. Well who knows, a lot can change over time even, I know that.
I go back down the spiral staircase to the dining table and sit, waiting for him to go down. When I sat however, I heard a farting noise. I turned beet read. Looking around I hope he wasn't there yet and I stood up to fix the skirt of my school uniform, also trying to fet rid of the smell that might come.
'Toot.toot' There it was again. Was it coming from me? Oh god this is embarassing. I clutch my stomach, silently pleading to it when I heard a snicker coming from the stairs. My eyes turn sharply and I knew Nathan was there.
"Real mature, Collins." I glare at him and he just smiles wider. "You should have seen your face! Does someone need to potty?" He mocks. I clench my fists and refrain from throwing something at him. At least he made it down. I motion for him to take the seat across from him and he willingly obliges.
"Shall we start?" I ask him, forgetting his prank already.Dwelling on pointless shit won't get me anywhere. It's back to business. He takes his things out of his backpack, which I didn't notice was there and gestured for me to start."By all means."
"Alright. Hand me your school agenda so we can see what we need to do for next week." I open it and get hit with confetti on the face. I slam the agenda on the table and shout at him.
"What the fuck is wrong with you!" He eyes get bigger and shocks flits across his face. "You swore! You swore!" He points at me and I slam my hands on the table.
"What are you? Ten?" He shakes his head at me. "Nahh man. Its just that I never thought you would swear. I mean you seem so serious all the time. Its so hard to make you smile or laugh."
I continue to glare at him. "There's nothing funny or anything to smile about. You never take things seriously. Fun won't get you anywhere."
He just continues shakes his head at me."I'll make you smile or laugh if its the last thing I do." He says all serious. Huh. Goodluck with the dude. My patience was wearing thin and I was deciding whether to just get up and leave when Nathan put his hands up. "Alright. Alright. I'll behave. I just need to do a couple of write ups for english which I need help to proof read and start on the problem set for math. I don't have any tests yet."
I nod and take the papers he was giving me. Once a week, I only have to go through this once a week. I can do this.
