Prologue:
The last time I had one of these: I don't even remember. I had forgotten that they happened.
I was in Colorado, washing off in a creek beside a road when it hit.
Nausea came in a wave as I sat in the creek. I attempted to crawl to the side of the creek when I blacked out.
A scene that I had seen many times, but not in the same location. My brother and "him" searching in a forested area, calling my name over and over again, looking under bushes and in trees. Honestly, I thought they would have given up, three months. That's how many months I have been running from...well...everyone. I had thought that they would assume I had died. I guess my brother had some sort of sixth sense, as they haven't given up yet. I just hoped I hadn't drowned yet. Maybe someone would find and help me.
~Chapter one~
Jack
I had been watching for thirty minutes, surely she was dead, right? She hadn't moved and i told myself that if two more minutes went by and she didn't move, I would go see for myself. I watched her, careful to notice any movement, but I only saw the water rippling through her hair. Somehow her hands had found a rock and latched onto it. I studied her face, her pale-olive cheeks were narrow as if she hadn't eaten in awhile and her clothes were stained with mud, which led me to believe she was running from something. A grasshopper jumped behind me, startling me. I decided that it was soon enough and got up from my sitting place and walked over to her. I grabbed her arm and dragged her closer to the shore. She didn't have anything real valuable on her, just a heart necklace and a bracelet so, I guessed she wasn't from some important family. But what surprised me is that she was still breathing. I looked closely at the bracelet on her arm, it had some words on it, so I decided to take it off of her am to look. As I unclasped it i slid my finger over the words. What happened next I was not expecting. It sprang into a sword. I nearly dropped it but I realized that i was still standing over the girl, so dropping it would be a bad idea. I took it by the handle and raised it so i could see it properly. At that precise moment the girl grabbed my leg, which, scared me even more causing me to almost drop it again. She shakily stood up and looked at me straight in the eyes. "Place the sword on the ground and back away." Her voice hinted an accent, but it was faint. "Please." At this point of the non-existent conversation i was confused. I put the sword on the ground and backed away while she moved forward, placing her finger on the blade causing it to pop back into bracelet form. She slid it onto her arm and looked back to me.
"Now please go back to wherever you live and try to rid your mind of this meeting." She turned around to face the creek.
"What about you? Don't you have a home?" I asked, "And 'rid' and 'meeting'. No one uses those words like that anymore."
She turned to face me and I could tell she was angry. "Then how about 'leave and don't follow me. Oh, also don't ever think about me again.' is that better?" I had a feeling that the wildlife had stopped to listen.
"Sorta, but you didn't ask nicely." I told the girl. She growled and said something in a language i didn't understand. "Um, excuse me, but what did you just say?"
