The Starting Conflict

So as promised here I am back with another update.......
And here it goes ...
This part is the continuation after the prologue....

Nandini's POV

After the introduction I asked him to take his seat. I just don't know why I was checking him out that way from then... I just want to shoo that thought from my mind. I have seen his picture before in newspaper. He had achieved some award or what !!! But I think he will be that angry young man like the other business men. And just then I noticed that band-aid on his forehead. So Cabir was right he actually hurt himself.

"So Mr. Malhotra you are Cabir's friend. He told me about you."
I looked up to him and there he was looking straight to me. Ughhh .... Why this people are like this....

"Mr. Malhotra I was telling you something." I said to break his trance.

"Ummm... It's Manik .... Only Manik for you. Not Mr. Malhotra." He said.

I was just looking at him with questioning eyes.
So he covered it up. "Wooh actually you are Cabir's friend and Cabir is my friend. So you are also my friend. And I am your's. And I don't think friends call each other by professional names ....."

I seriously just don't know what to say. And how can I forget he is Cabir's friend. And his friends are also like him only. He is still looking at me hoping for some answers.

"Ummm so Mr.... I mean Manik let's start for what you have come here. So can you please tell me what problems you are having.... And how did you get that scratch you remember ???"

"Yeah Nandini as Cabir told you....."

"One second Manik it's Dr. Murthy for you. I know Cabir is my friend. You are Cabir's. But now I am your consultant psychiatrist and you are my patient. So it's Dr. Murthy for you. I hope you can understand."

And I found him looking into me with mouth open.

"Wooh I'm sorry Dr. Murthy. Huhhh... As I was saying Cabir already told you that I'm getting weird nightmares."

"One second sorry to interrupt but nightmares are never weird. That always have something hidden meaning or message or past. So can you tell me what type of nightmares you are getting ???"

"Was I defining you my daily routine???? No nah I was telling you about my nightmare only. And I don't know What type of nightmare it is that's why I have come to you. And you are asking me in return. What rubbish??? This is the reason I never come to any psychiatrist....... "

He was talking all rubbish taking my patience in it's high. Just then his phone rang......

"Hello??? What ???? But why didn't you told me??? I told you that I am not okay !!! What it's Urgent. Okay ok I'm coming don't worry. Yeah see you in the office." He cut the phone.

But I think he owes me some answers.

"Ummm ... Manik.... "

"Ohh I'm sorry Dr. Murthy".

Thank God at least he can say sorry too.

"Sorry actually I have some urgent work in office so I have to go haan. I will see you later haan bye. Don't worry I will talk to Cabir."

And he departed with the speed of a wind. Wait ...... What The Hell ...... I thought he told me sorry for all the gibberish he told but no. He told me Sorry for the early leave..... This was not done.

I took my phone and dialed a number. "Hello Cabir.... We need to talk................... "

Manik's POV

After the hand shake she asked me to sit. I just couldn't take my eyes off her. She is so beautiful ..... I'm literally ogling her.... She speaks so sweet .... I don't know what she is telling me ...... I'm just listening to her sweet voice.... When suddenly I heard

"Mr. Malhotra I was telling you something."

What seriously Mr. Malhotra ???? It sounds so old. Do I look like a 45 years old business man ???? No nah !!!!

"Ummm... It's Manik .... Only Manik for you. Not Mr. Malhotra." I told in that trance.

But then I saw her looking towards me with annoyed look. Shit !!!!!! What I just said !!!!! Manik you have really got insane....

"Wooh actually you are Cabir's friend and Cabir is my friend. So you are also my friend. And I am your's. And I don't think friends call each other by professional names ....."

Ufff thank God !!!! She looks convinced.... Manik you are a genius .......

So she started asking me about my condition.

"Ummm so Mr.... I mean Manik let's start for what you have come here. So can you please tell me what problems you are having.... And how did you get that scratch you remember ???"

Scratches ???? Ohh so she noticed me .... She also checked me out .... So the fire is not only one sided ....

I prepared my self to tell the whole story .... "Yeah Nandini as Cabir told you....." But I was interrupted in between ....

"One second Manik it's Dr. Murthy for you. I know Cabir is my friend. You are Cabir's. But now I am your consultant psychiatrist and you are my patient. So it's Dr. Murthy for you. I hope you can understand."

What ??????? Did I heard it right ???? She just asked me to call her Dr. Murthy ????? Seriously ???? Aftet all what I explained from a long time what I told her she just replied it.... Huhhh !!!!

But I composed myself again and started .... "Wooh I'm sorry Dr. Murthy. Huhhh... As I was saying Cabir already told you that I'm getting weird nightmares."

Now that was it for me .... I am sitting here opposite her telling my problems and cancelling all my works and she is just not allowing me to tell anything and just interrupting from then ...... And upon that she is just showing her attitude to me .... To Manik Malhotra ..... The Manik Malhotra .... She just don't know what she has done just now ..... I can't take it anymore .... This is enough .....

I was planning to continue but just then my phone rang .... It was Alok, my PA , "Hello???"

"Hello Sir .... I just called you to inform you that you have a meeting with Singapore delegates today afternoon and you have to show them our project Sir ...."

"What ?????But why didn't you told me??? I told you that I am not okay !!!"

"I know Sir but what to do they just want it today and you only said it's important for us."

"What it's Urgent. Okay ok I'm coming don't worry. Yeah see you in the office."

Oh no now I have to go office as soon as possible or else it's gonna be a great loss ...

I was preparing to leave just then "Ummm ... Manik.... " I heard her calling me ....

Oh I forget I was settling my scores with her .... But not now .... "Ohh I'm sorry Dr. Murthy"

I needed to leave and I am really sorry that what I was intended to respond to her attitude I couldn't.... "Sorry actually I have some urgent work in office so I have to go haan. I will see you later haan bye. Don't worry I will talk to Cabir."

I stood up and straight went out ...... I have to talk to Cabir ...... He told me she is sweet and what ....!!!!! I need to show him her real face .......

I was all set to go office and just then I received a message from Cabir "We need to talk. Call me after you meeting." And here he comes ..... Let's see what's in store ..... Huffff !!!!

And at last the chapter is completed ......
