Prologue
I don't remember why I said yes. Ah, now I do. I said yes because the man I love was about to be killed. An insane idea, yes, but a smart one all the same. What would you do if the one you loved was about to die? I saved his life, but I ruined mine. If someone had to survive, it must be him. Because he is my one and only. If you have ever truly loved someone, you would do anything to help them. Even die.
Chapter One: The New Arrival
SKYE POINT OF VIEW
I hate this. The torture, the doctors, all of it. That is what I think every morning when I wake up.
I made my way down to the mess hall, where there were some other doctors. I waited there, to listen to their conversation.
When they noticed me, they went quiet. Then, Dr. Jones, who is constantly making advances towards me, said,
"Well, Sleeping Beauty awakens! We were just talking about a new inmate coming today. There is also a new doctor coming! Seems that he has all the nurses in a flutter!"
I just looked at him and rolled my eyes. "If you honestly worry about my personal safety, why didn't you just say so? Instead you always make me think that you are more interested in me for my body rather than my well-being."
"Oooh, feisty. I've always admired you for your wittiness."
At that point I just walked away. Dr. Jones was one of the worst things about this place.
WILLIAM POINT OF VIEW
I looked up at the grim, old building. Was this what my family had subjected me to? A life of misery? In an asylum, might I add. I was not insane. I just could feel more than most people.
I could feel the sadistic enjoyment of each inmate's doctor; I could feel the pain that the patients were feeling. Was this to be my pain, too? When I did nothing?
My escort tapped me on the shoulder, bringing me back from my reverie. I could feel the fear and disgust radiating off of his body. He didn't know why I was really here. If he did, he wouldn't be afraid.
"I'm going now. Goodbye, Mr. Stone."
I made my way into the establishment. There was a doctor there, he looked around twenty-four. He turned around, and was shocked to see me.
