Prolog:
“Mom I’m home,” I called as I walked through the front door, to my surprise there was no answer back. I slowly made my way up the stairs, being as quite as possible, I heard nothing but my own soft steps and my rapid heart beat.
“Mom?” I called once more. Finally I reached the last door on the right which was my mom and dads room. The door was open just a crack. I pushed the door open more. And at that moment my heart stopped the hairs on the back of my neck stood up it was as though everything in the world stopped. Right in front of my eyes was a lifeless body hanging from a rope, the body was facing the other way but from the long red hair I could tell it was my mother.
I tugged at the end of my black silk dress, trying to make it look longer than it is. I let my jet black hair fall to the middle of my back. I slipped on my black heels. I walked over to my mirror. I could see the black circles around my eyes, from the lack of sleep. I closed my bright blue eyes and let out a soft sigh... Today was my mother’s funeral. She died about three days ago from suicide.
“Raven Hun its time to go now,” I heard my dad calling me from down the hall. It was time, a small tear made its way down my cheek I reached for the door knob I shivered as I touched it. The wooden door creaked as I pulled it open. Click, click, click went my heels as I made my way down the hall way. Only slowing down as I passed my mothers room. Man I’m really going to miss this house, my dad thinks it’s best that we move somewhere else. So we’re going to go live with his friend Sandra, I’m starting to think my dad was cheating on my mother with her. They seem too touchy to just be friends.
Finally reaching the stairs I made my way down them to find my dad, his black hair was slicked back and he was wearing a suit. Unlike me he didn’t seem all that sad, we walked quickly over to the door opening it and holding it open for me.
“Thanks.” I muttered under my breath. I walked over to our family car, it was a black limo. Sometimes I hated being so rich, it was pointless taking a limo everywhere you go. As normal dean the driver was standing there in his dark blue suit. He held one of the limo doors open for me I quickly climbed in forgetting to say thanks. During the whole ride there flash backs of that day kept replaying in my head.
Chapter1
I let a small piece of hair fall into my face as I clenched my eyes shut. I let the warming sensation take over; I tightened my grip on the small metallic object between my fingers. I kept my eyes shut until I felt the calming pain of pins and needles crawling up my arm. This will be the last time I kept saying over and over in my head.
I peaked one eye open, and soon opened the other, I peered down at my arm to see how much damage I had really done this time. I trailed my eyes down my arm, until my eyes met the all too familiar deep red liquid. I sighed to myself as I leaned my head against the wall. I welcomed the numbing feeling all too kindly.
“Raven?” called an all too familiar voice followed by a knock on my door.
“Yeah?” I choked out as jumped up pulling my sleeve down and slipping my knife into my pocket. I made my way slowly over to the door, and opened it to see my father.
“Its time to go Ray.” He said smiling a sad smile down at me.
“Okay just give me a minute.” I said while closing the door once more.
And with that I slowly walked over to my full body mirror. I pulled at my deep purple long sleeve top that just revealed my bellybutton ring. I was wearing skin tight black jeans. I fixed my long black hair and redid my makeup. After I was done I grabbed my bright green bag off the floor and headed out the door.
