Three Kings and a Queen

Chapter 5

"Attention everyone!" Francois yelled, "Dinner is now being served! Please find a seat and prepare to sample the finest cuisine the Sapphireans have to offer!"

There was one really long table near the left wall of the ballroom, and horizontal by it was a smaller table where the royals would eat (it looked like a T). Amelia sat in the center of the royals table with Matthew on her right and Yao on her left. Yao wasn't technically a royal, but he would throw a fit if he had to sit at the large table so she just let him sit by her. Ivan sat next to Matthew, and Kiku next to Ivan. Arthur was next to Yao, and Lukas was next to his older brother.

She didn't know why Lukas had come, none of the other royals had brought any of their siblings (to her knowledge), but she was sure there was a reason. A disgruntled Maria sat next to Kiku, she usually sat by Amelia and Matthew, but this time she couldn't. Francois sat next to Lukas and immediately started to flirt, which made the overprotective Arthur forcefully switch places with Lukas. Arthur was then shamelessly flirted with, much to his annoyance.

Why was Francois allowed to sit here again? Oh right, he couldn't be allowed to flirt with the nobles, so they sat him up here where the Sapphirean royals sat. They were all used to his constant flirtatiousness, but unfortunately the visiting royals weren't.

Francois was enjoying playing with the handsome Emeraldean Prince, he was quite feisty. He told him as much, and almost got slapped. Francois, King of the Emerald Kingdom, husband of King Arthur... That does have a nice ring to it... Francois thought.

Why the bloody hell won't this wanker leave me alone? I really hope they have tea here. Did he just call me 'feisty'? Oh no you did not you frog! This is going to be a long dinner. Maybe Princess Amelia will see my distress and rescue me, she does seem to think of herself as some sort of hero. Arthur thought.

I hope Arthur doesn't actually hit Francois, it would reflect badly on us and we need this alliance. The Sapphire kingdom is very powerful, and they have so many magical resources. Lukas thought as he watched Arthur's large eyebrows furrow as he tried to control his anger.

I can't believe the Amethysts came! I had to make so many last-minute changes to everything! And their Prince is so irresponsible! He and Princess Amelia snuck food. I go away for one second and she has somehow managed to get three pieces of food! If they get married, I'm going to have to retire. I don't think I can handle two people who are that childish... Yao thought as ran his hand through his sleek black hair and glanced at the tall Prince.

I hope everyone likes the food! I know I will, but I love all food so... Oh no, Francois is flirting with Arthur. Should I stop him? I don't know if I can stop him! He's like the flirting master! Haha Yao is probably still grumpy that Ivan and I got food! I'm probably going to hear about that later, which is totally not going to be fun. Where is Ivan? Oh! He's next to Mattie! Wait... This could be bad. Mattie please don't be such a grumpy-grump! Be nice! Ivan is totally chill and super fun! Amelia thought as she nudged her brother and looked at him disapprovingly as he gave Ivan the cold shoulder.

Oh! It's Maria! Do I look okay? Oh my gosh I hope I- wait. That's Ivan. WHY IS IVAN SITTING NEXT TO ME?!? AMELIA GET HIM AWAY FROM ME HE'S EVIL!! I don't want to talk to you Ivan get away from me and my sister or I will hurt you. My sister may think you're nice but I see through your little disguise. IF YOU KEEP TALKING TO ME I WILL ORDER THE TROOPS TO FREAKING DETROY YOUR KINGDOM I SWE- Amelia I don't want to be nice to him he's an awful person! Can't you see that? Matthew thought as he glared as Ivan and then pleaded through his eyes with Amelia, begging her to understand.

I really think Francois should stop flirting with Arthur, he clearly does not like it. Am I the only one that can read the mood? Although, they would make a cute couple... Why is Prince Ivan so tall? That height must not be normal... Kiku thought as he stared at the top of Ivan's head after looking at Arthur and Francois.

WHY THE HECK IS THE AWESOME ME SITTING AT THE END OF THE TABLE?!? I SHOULD BE WITH AMELIA AND MATTIE WHO ARE ALMOST AS AWESOME AS ME!!! Also why does Amelia like that Amethyst one? He is totally NOT awesome! I think she should marry Kiku, he is kind of awesome. Also Prince Arthur is too fancy pants! He thinks he's such a gentlemen! Well guess what! GENTLEMEN ARE TOTALLY UNAWESOME!! HAHAHAA!!! I should see if I can get Antonio and Francois to play a prank on him... HHAHAAHA KESEKESEKESKESE THE BAD TOUCH TRIO WILL TOTALLY GET HIM!! I don't even know why people call us that that but whatever... Maria thought as she looked around the table and smirked as she plotted.

Dinner was brought out and everyone stuffed themselves, even the 'gentlemanly' Arthur. Amelia thanked everyone for coming to the first night of the ball, and talked on and on about how she hoped to see them for the next six days while the ball continued and how at the end she would choose. Finally she finished, and she walked to her room and opened her door and flopped on the bed.

She then remembered that she had a dress on, so she rung for a maid because she could just not figure out how all the ties in dresses worked. She was put into her nightclothes after she had a bath and her dress was taken off. She thanked her maid and then flopped on her bed, exhausted. It wasn't even that late, and she was ready to sleep until Yao came in to yell at her to wake up.

With that thought, she pulled her covers up and fell into a dreamless sleep.

Anyways it's like two weeks till school starts again and I might not be able to update as much then. ;-;   We only had eight weeks of summer!! Not cool!!
