~Chapter 15~
It was as if everybody was at a standstill. It seemed the pack had formed a circle around Anne and Scott. No one was moving an inch. All eyes were focused on the couple in the center.
I had been frozen myself until my sense came back to me. Slowly, I pushed my way to the center of the crowd, nudging people out of the way as I went.
When Anne and Scott were in view, they both had looks of wonder. The couple seemed to be oblivious of the scene they caused, ignoring all gazes focused on them.
It seemed not a single person wanted to interrupt the special moment of a bond forming between two people.
Of course, except Kade.
The people opposite me spread all of a sudden, making way for their Alpha.
Oh so they'll move for him! But when the Luna try's to get by, I have to force and shove my way through!
Kade made his way through to stand near Anne.
At Kade's intrance, both Scott and Anne broke their trance. Scott still had that wonderous look in his eyes, but Anne's were anything but. Now she seemed worried.
"It seems we should take this up to the pack office," Kade said in his deep baritone. He turned and started walking into the pack house.
As Anne was following, Scott walked closely to her and wrapped an arm around her waist. Anne's worried expression intensified.
I hurriedly walked behind them as I looked at the varying expressions of the pack. One face I focused on was Luke's.
His face matched his sister's. They both seemed to not like the idea of Anne being mated to Scott.
Once inside his office, Kade faced everybody in the room. As his Beta, Aiden stood to the side near Kade.
Travis had also joined the group in the room with an excited face. He seemed to be happy for Scott as I was.
Now Kade wouldn't have a reason to hate Scott anymore!
"It seems we are faced with a problem," Kade began.
I snapped my head over to face Kade. "What problem? Scott's finally found his mate," I said excitedly.
While my gang of Rogues shared my enthusiasm, non of the pack wolves did. And the most upset was Anne.
"Victoria," Kade spoke. "It's not that easy. Anne is a pack wolf and HE'S a Rogue."
I crossed my arms over my chest and got a snotty expression on my face. "What is that supposed to mean? I was a Rogue."
"You know I didn't mean it like that," Kade said exasperatedly. "We knew where you were going to live. Anne however, has to leave as a Rogue or her mate has to become a member of Shadow Pack."
"That's easy. She'll leave with us," Scott spoke out.
"What?!" Anne ripped her arm away from Scott. "I don't want to be a Rogue," she seethed.
Scott cringed at her words. "Why not?"
Anne rolled her eyes. "My family is here. If I leave with you, I'll never get to see them."
"But you can see them! Whenever you want, I promise," Scott was pleading.
"What makes you think I actually WANT to be one of you," she snorted.
There argument was interrupted when I let out a vicious snarl.
I didn't like what she was insinuating. She's acting as if she's better than him and that Rogues are beneath her.
