~Chapter 17~
The slamming of a door was what awoke me. The loud flick of a lock being clicked into place sounded around the room.
Groggily, I opened my eyes only to shut them tightly from the brightness of the room. With more caution this time, I eased them open with my hands blocking some of the light. Once my vision had adjusted, I took in my surroundings.
I appeared to be in some confined room where the walls were a bland white with no windows and one huge, metal door. It was practically empty except for one bed that looked like one found in a jail cell and a metal toilet.
Hell, this could be considered a jail cell!
Getting off of the bed and coming to a stand I gazed around. The light that had nearly blinded me was a luminescent, fluorescent bulb. Surprisingly though, there was no light switch anywhere in the room.
Recounting my memories, I knew I was not on Shadow Pack territory. I was probably in Nightshade territory now.
Does this mean that Kade died? I felt my heart ache as it pounded against my chest. I calmed down though when I realized that he wasn't. He couldn't because if he was I would feel it, I would know.
Thinking ahead this time, I reached out with the pack link but got nothing. Walking towards the door and placing my hand flat on it, I came to the conclusion it was probably more than metal. It was most likely silver. That must be causing the problems with the link.
After scanning the entire room and realizing there was no possible way out of this room without exiting through that ginormous door, I sat on the edge of the thin mattress.
There being no clock, I had no idea how long I had been awake. I didn't even know how long I had been in this place!
A loud clank signaled the door being unlocked and I quickly shot up into a sitting position. The door opened as two figures stepped through. One I had the displeasure of meeting already and the other I had only heard about. Standing before me was Damien and Savannah, leaders of the Nightshade Pack. Damien stood next to his Luna with blonde hair and blues eyes as cold as ice. Not even searching for them, I could immediately see the resemblance between him and Travis.
"I imagine you know who I am," his voice was deep as he gave me a malicious grin. Me not responding, he sighed. "I would say I'm sorry for doing this but truthfully, I'm not." Damien gauged my reaction and when he saw the indifference and my refusal to speak, he growled annoyingly. But as soon as the anger came it left to be replaced with a sinister smirk. "Such a pity your not as lively as your friend."
My breathing hitched as my blood ran cold. Eyes blazing, I jumped to a stand from anger. "Don't you dare lay a hand on ANY of my pack members," I threatened.
"Ah! That's what I like to see," he chuckled darkly. "And don't worry, I will save my brother's mate till the end." I felt moisture build slightly in the corner of my eyes. "I want to see the look on his face when I slaughter his mate, see the pain I've caused him," an evil glint entered his gaze.
They captured Jessica too! Instead if showing my sadness or horridness, I became enraged. "Your Wolves are worthless and will not remain loyal to you. You and any followers you may have will fall," I spoke dead serious.
