Sam Downs, or as he is really called, James Bruce, was taken away by the police about 15 minutes after we (or I, for that matter) had caught him and the three of us were driven straight back to the headquarters. There waiting at the front of the underground headquarters, was Red-hawk.

"Good job agents." He announced, making the whole room burst into applause. I grinned around the room and slightly waved as I strolled over to him and everyone resumed their current tasks, packing up to sign off for the day.

"You did good, kid." Dad put his arm around me and we walked down the long middle aisle of our headquarters.

"Thanks." I replied. "Didn't really need the other two though. Just kinda killed my vibe, you know?"

"You can't do everything alone, Danika. Sometimes you need to let people help you." He sighed.

"Well, they didn't do anything to help, did they?" I scoffed, turning left to go to my little office section and leaving Red-hawk to walk alone to his office.

I wasn't lying though. I would've been completely fine on my own, to be honest.

Looking around my office section, I grabbed my little tote bag of things from underneath the desk and held it securely in my hand. My eyes landed on a small photo frame which was sat at the edge of my desk.

Inside it was a tiny picture of my mum and I.

My mum was kidnapped 5 years ago, about a week before my birthday. 2 years later, her body was found at the bottom of a river in Bournemouth, approximately 2 and a half hours from where she was last seen.

In the picture, Mum and I had our backs to each other, making little fingers guns and pointing them up to the sky. I chuckled lightly and sighed, placing the frame down so that the photo was out of sight.

"I'll find who did this to you, I promise." I muttered under my breath, trying hard to fight back the tears in my eyes.

"Hey Danika..." I jumped at the low voice that had been heard from behind me and turned right around to see Agent Santiago, his arm rested on one of the computer monitors next to him.

"Santiago." I nodded at him, implying a subtle greeting before walking towards the exit. Santiago shuffled his whole body in the direction I was going, therefore blocking my way. We stood about two millimeters apart and I could hear his breathing loud and clear, as I stared at him with a rather annoyed glare on my face.

"Danika, my dear." I cringed as these words escaped his lips, "I've told you a million times, call me Lucas."

His smirk sent intense little shivers down my spine and I sighed loudly before violently pushing past him.

"Okay, Lucas." I began, doing small air quotations with my fingers around his name, "Are back again to ask the same question?"

"Just one date. I'll show you I'm the right guy for you." He basically pleaded whilst I walked quickly towards the exit, Santiago somewhat jogging to catch up with me.

"Hmm, let's think about this." I stopped in my track and blinked at him, "You're asking your co-worker, and also your boss' daughter, to go on a date with you?"

Santiago nodded eagerly, his face filled with utter concentration.

"Are you asking to be fired?" And with that, I flipped my hair and strolled out of the headquarters for the night, leaving Santiago standing there alone.

Fool.
