" I love the rain. I love how it softens the outlines of things. The world becomes softly blurred, and I feel like I melt right into it."
-Hanamoto Hagumi
The cold rain felt good on my skin. It felt pure. Soothing even.
Taking a deep breathe, I close my eyes. Just think Leo, think. I look around around me and I see no one, only the blurred outlines of buildings and cars down the road. Great.
Rubbing my hands against my bare shoulders and arms, I try to keep myself warm, but failing miserably.
The day I forget my keys inside my car is the day that God decides to grace us with a good pouring Summer rain.
My clothes are soaked, my hair is stuck to my face and I'm pretty sure I even have water inside my shoe.
Don't get me wrong, I'm one to always see the best in every situation and I always try to keep a positive mind, but right now, there's nothing positive about this.
Should I break the window? No, Leo, you couldn't, and besides, you are too much of a pussy to do that.
I should probably call someone. Yeah, I could definitely call someone. Looking around my purse, I curse myself for not finding it. Where the hell is the bloody phone?
And that is when I stop moving and smack my palm against my forehead. Inside, the goddamn car.
Of course. Where else could it be? Inside the goddamn, locked car, with the bloody keys.
"God, I know that I haven't been going to church, nor have I given money to the homeless as much as I should, but come on! This is just a little bit too much don't you think? Can't you at least stop the rain?" I look down at my white worn out shoes and sigh - "And I'm going completely mental."
Resignating, I realize that the only way I'm getting home today is if I catch the bus and in the morning I could just call the car trailer to help me get my car keys out.
As I was ready to leave the college premises I hear someone behind me say - "Hey, do you need help?"
Turning around I am faced with, maybe, one of the most good looking guys I have ever seen in my life. And I'm not one to really care about good looks.
He had tattoos all over his arms and neck. Not the trashy kind off tattoos, but tasteful ones, at least from what I can tell. He was way taller than me, and I'm not even that short at 5'5. Finally looking at his face I see that he has a nose ring, it gives him a bad boy kind of look. It suits him.
"Yes, yes I do. But I'm not sure if you can help me. I left my car keys and phone inside the car." I say pointing to my car.
He looks briefly behind me and then looks back at me. "Well, that's some luck you got there. Do you want me to take you somewhere? If you stay longer in the rain you'll be sick, that is, if you aren't already." he says pointing at my clothes. I follow his gaze and I know his right. I can already feel my head starting to hurt a little, and the longer I stay here in the rain, the worst it will be.
Looking back at him I realize that's he's getting pretty wet too, his black shirt is starting to cling to his body, giving me a peak at his abs.
"Thank you, but I'll catch the bus. There's a bus stop just down the road."
"Nonsense, where do you live? I'm headed downtown, I can drop you off. No big deal." he says shrugging like it's the most normal thing to give a ride home to a complete stranger.
Knowing that he's heading the same way I am, I decide to take up on his offer. Better that than staying under the cold rain.
"I'm also headed downtown. I guess that it would be better than waiting for the bus." I tell him and he nods leading the way.
He had this aura around him. It was something like I never felt before.
It felt like when you touch something that you weren't supposed to touch, but you do it anyway, just so you could taste the danger and excitement, disregarding any consequence. I guess that what I felt that he radiated was freedom, sweet exciting freedom.
"Thank you for giving me a ride. I really appreciate it." I say making him look my way and flash a million dollar smile - "Don't mention it."
"I'm Leonora." I inform him, extending my hand when we come to a stop in front of his car.
"Nice to meet you Leonora, I'm Declan."
HELLO! I'm sorry it took so long to update, but I've been rewriting this chapter for the past couple of days and it was always rubish, besides, I'm in the process of moving to Ireland so everything has been kind of hectic.
I decided that for this story, I'll keep a simple plot. There won't be crazy drama and stuff like that. I want to keep this simple and drama free, so if that's not something that you like, I'm sorry and move to another story.
The chapters will be short and I'll only edit after I finish the story (sorry) but that means I'll update faster!
And finally, I want to thank everyone who read the story, voted and added to their library.
