If you knew that day that you would hardly visit him you probably would have kept your mouth shut. You still think back to that day wishing you didn't say anything yet a part of was glad you did and it made you feel guilty. Though it was November already and you only visited Ben once this entire month this one being the second. The last time you did it was just awkward, we didn't know what to say and he always had a painful look whenever you looked him in the eyes. It made you wonder if he even wanted to see you.

'Ugh, I shouldn't be thinking so much negative thoughts'

You cough a few times which makes your whole body ache. So you focus your attention on the few leaves that yet had to fall, but something else caught you attention making you anxious as you clutched the end of your coat. It was Ben and he...was about to fall in the freezing river...

You take deep breaths and went in a full sprint as your scarf trailed behind you as did your hair. It all seemed to play out so quickly. The way you grabbed his arm pulling him back with as much force you could making you dangerously close to the water or how your foot slipped on the mud making you fall in the bitter cold water.

The cold ice pricking your skin as it burned more then make you feel cold. Sinking ever so more as you tried to move your arms but it was as if all your strength was gone. It felt like the water was closing in on you and you were just letting it happen. Gradually your eyes were closing but just before they did a hand reached out towards you. You felt so exhausted to get it almost as if you were giving into death, but with all the power you had left you grabbed it and you were begin pulled up.

The both of you stood on the ground dripping with cold water and breathing heavily. The wind gushing at the both of you as for it was the only thing that made a sound. Until Ben started apologizing to break the silence.

"I-I'm so sor-ry."

His eyes met yours realizing you had no emotion in them, not even rage. You were just standing, arms crossed shaking and the cold wind didn't make it better. So your feet headed off into the woods but just before you reached them a hand grabbed your wrist.

"(Y/n)..." he said again repeating himself.

And through chattering teeth you whisper, "please let go of me."

You left him there again but this time the only sound that can be heard is the wind blowing and the silent cries from you.

Making it home was easy but closing the door was difficult because you collapsed from the bitter cold. After sometime time your mom got home only to find the door open with you lying there almost lifeless with shallow breathing. So she called the hospital.
