Him and Him – Chapter Four

Connor's POV

"Happy one-year anniversary." I said shyly as Jack opened a bottle of champagne in celebration. "To you as well." He said, romantically. "Let's go to that party, now. I have a feeling something amazing is about to happen there." Jack added and we headed out to the car. We were holding a function at a local event hall, in honor of our one-year anniversary. We invited everyone we could think of, and it was going to be great.

Jackson's POV

It was going to be greater than Connor had ever imagined. He thinks that this is just a nice little party in honor of our relationship. Little does he know, he's getting proposed to. I shoved the little black velvet box into my pocket and rushed Connor out the door, hoping he didn't see.

When we arrived at the event hall, Connor must've spent ten minutes in the car while I waited outside the car for him to fix his hair and tie. "Come on, you look fine, baby." I said as he got out of the car. "I'm sorry! It is not my fault that you always look fucking flawless and I have to spend hours getting ready!" He overdramatically said as we walked into the venue. "Oh, please! You always look fine as fuck, daddy." I said with a wink. "We both know you're daddy, so shut the fuck up." He said, smiling uncontrollably. "You just admitted you're a bottom." I mumbled under my breath with a chuckle. Connor slapped my shoulder and we walked into the event confidently.

Throughout the course of the event, Connor and I danced more than anything. Everyone was there, my family, his, our friends, literally everyone we knew. Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration, but it could very well have been true. There were a lot of people there who supported us, and I was truly grateful for that, and could not wait until the proposal, because no one knew except for me. I made it a point to tell no one, that way, when I did it, it'd be a surprise to everyone and not just Connor. The ring I chose was beautiful, or at least I thought so. I have the matching one in my pants pocket, not to be confused with his, which is in the little black velvet box in my blazer pocket. All night I was thinking about that big moment when I brought him up on the little stage they had and proposed. The nerves were just building up inside me. But the more I thought about it, the more excited I got.

Finally, the clock struck ten, which meant it was time for the proposal. The DJ we hired winked at me and grabbed his microphone. He stopped the music and said, "Can I now have Connor and Jackson come up on the stage?" I took Connor's hand and led him onto the stage, and stood on his left side as the DJ continued speaking. "These two lovers have been at it for a year now, and I don't know if you know their story, but it's a damn good one. And from what I have been told by all the people standing here tonight, it was a roller coaster of a story, too. But, now, I think Jackson has something he'd like to say." The DJ shut up and it was all me now, I had never been so damn nervous in my entire life. "Connor, you mean the world to me, and I don't know what I'd do without you. Well, I'd probably just be eating Cheerios on my couch in my underwear, but that's not the point. The point is, that I love you. And I love you enough to do this." I said and got down on one knee, pulling the ring from my pocket. Connor began crying, and I just smiled with the utmost joy. "Connor Franta, will you marry me?" I asked and Connor nodded his head, not able to say a single word. I took the ring from the box and slipped it onto his finger. I then took the ring out of my pants pocket and slipped it onto my finger. "HE SAID YES!!" I yelled as we walked off the stage, Connor still in tears, and my tears just beginning.

Connor's POV

I must have cried for a good half an hour before getting my shit together. It wasn't until towards the end of the party that I actually got my shit together, but I was so shocked and happy and just overall amazed that he wanted to marry me. Since the day I laid eyes on him, I knew I wanted to marry him.

"Oh. My. Gosh." I said, hyperventilating as Jack and I got into his car. "You like it?" He asked. I nodded my head as I stared at the ring. It was a beautiful piece, an entirely rose gold band with a line of black diamonds in the center. "It was practically made for you." Jack said before he planted a magical kiss on my lips. "It's so... so..." I was at a complete loss for words. "It's by Neil Lane, and to finish your sentence, beautiful." Jack said with a smile. I sighed with joy, not taking my eyes off the piece. "I'm so happy I'm going to be married to you." I said and kissed Jack again before he pulled out of the venue's parking lot and began driving.

I was the luckiest man in the world.
