So The Walking Dead!

Chapter 1

I pick a plump berry before popping it in my mouth. I was starving. The last of my supplies were gone and I didn't want to risk going to the city. It was far too bad.

The last few days I had been surviving off berries I had found and been sleeping in trees so the Chompers couldn't get me. It used to be better. I had a small group but the last of them died in the last supply run. At least, they never came back so I guess they must of died or maybe ran away.

I'm distracted from my thoughts by a loud sound of a car alarm going off somewhere near.

People! There might be living human people! Unless one of those stupid chompers banged into one of the cars near the highway.

I take the risk, following the loud sound. That's strange. It was leading me to the opposite direction of the highway.

I poke my head out of the bushes only to see a bright flash of red wizz by. I was almost certain that's where the noise was coming from. I look down,my eyes following the path through car was taking. At the bottom was a small camp filled with tents and not far of was a small lake of water.

Beside the tents and the parked red car was a small group of people.

The noise stopped suddenly. The person driving it must of turned it off.

I make a quick decision. Should I go down there or not? I didn't want to sleep in the tree again tonight but I wasn't sure if I should stay so far away from my own camp in case somebody came back for me.

I could always stay the night with them and than sneak off in the morning. But I didn't know if these people were good. I squint my eyes trying to get a closer look.

They have kids! They look around my age as well. The kids seem happy enough,playing some kind of tag game.

Pushing my worried thoughts away,I step completely out of the bushes before slowly walking down towards the camp.

The first person to notice me is a long black haired lady. She takes a knife out of her pocket before alerting the others of my presence. Everybody turns around to face me but the small boy and girl who went in the RV.

I start to slow down, rethinking my actions. I slowly put my hands above my head before backing away. I guess I'm not welcome here. They all have knifes or some kind of blunt weapon out but lower them when they see me put my hands up.

One drops their weapon and runs towards me. I take a couple steps back unsure of who this person was but soon regonise him.

"Glenn!" I shout running towards him too. He wraps me up in a hug.

"I...I thought you were dead!" I cry into his shoulder.

"I'm fine"He says hugging me tighter "Come on, lets go meet the group." I grab his hand. Childish I know but I was scared. I was never good with introductions. I was a shy and awkward person.

"Guys this is my little sister. Louise. She's 12."

"I'm Lori" says the black haired woman. "Sorry if I scared you"

I play with my golden hair nervously and give a small smile. She smiles back while everybody else introduces themselves.

"If you don't mind me asking, I was.. eh... wondering why Louise isn't... em" Someone I think her name was Amy stutters. I laugh.

"Koran" Glenn says cutting her off " Louise was adopted." Amy blushes and I giggle.

"There are some kids in the RV if you want to go play with them" Lori says" There's my son Carl and then Carol's daughter Sophia both are around the same age as you"

I let go of Glenn's hand before making my way towards the RV I open the door stepping in. I see the boy who I presume was Carl and then girl who was probably Sophia.

Carl looks up at me, stopping the game. He flashes me a dazzling smile before speaking.

"I'm Carl" He says.

"Louise" I say with a shy smile.

"And I'm Sophia!" Says.. well Sophia. I smile again but at her this time.

"Wanna go to the lake?" Carl asks.

Is it too short?  Please tell me and I'll make it longer/shorter.
