Prologue
I’ve never been one to truly and completely understand the purity and the imperfection of the concept of love. Though, the thought of a world without love, is unfathomable. The thought itself, to be with someone, to be so emotionally and spiritually combined with another’s soul, sounds like the worst idea that could come to mind, but yet at the same time, so inviting. Feeling a connection so deep, that you feel it throughout your entire body, making you crave for it.
For love itself, has the power to complete your humanity and your existence, or to destroy you so beyond compare that there is no chance to compensate for the loss of feeling, or for the utter annihilation of everything you planned for your life to become.
But this idea isn’t as cracked up as it is played out to be by all of those Hollywood movies. They always show the positive side. The side that doesn’t hurt. They show the side that everyone expects their life to turn out like. When in reality, everyone has, is currently, or most definitely will experience heart-break. And not just a “middle school heart-break” where you thought you would never love again. But a heart-break so powerful and overwhelming that it hurts to even imagine what it would be like doing something you enjoyed without your loved one by your side. A heart-break where it physically hurts and it renders you paralyzed.
All of these thoughts, all of these emotions and opinions, changed. They changed as soon as she walked into my life.
Now I understand.
My name is Jason Rogers. And I am captivated.
