"Bye mom," I say one last time before kissing her on the cheek, I'll be gone for a month at a sports camp. It's not just one sport, it's most sports. But I plan on mostly doing Basketball, as I am the Basketball captain. I'm not the best on the team, but for some reason I'm the captain. The weird thing is, I have so much anxiety. But I am fine playing basketball; honestly, it's probably the only thing that makes me popular. I'm really popular at school, it was a completely different story before i joined the team.
I'm not a social outcast anymore.
I grabbed my bags out of the backseat of my mom's car, giving her one last wave before closing the door and finally entering the camp. There was a wooden cabins scattered about the area, a pebble path connecting them all. Tall trees grew on the outskirts, a forest stretching behind most cabins. There was many teenagers running and walking around the camp, holding their bags hugging old friends, some walking alone like I was.
I walk to the cabin I had been assigned to, cabin 8.
I had a duffle bag and a backpack with me. The duffle back had my basketball and my clothes I'll play basketball in, mostly because I couldn't fit everything in either bag. So I put all my other clothes and essentials in my backpack and everything else in my duffle bag.
I open the cabin door to see four beds, both bunk beds. I wanted a bottom bunk, one was taken so I walked to the other one. The cabin was a square, a bunk bed on either side of the door. The middle had a door to the bathroom.
I dropped my bags on the bed, walking over to the middle door. I wanted to see if it was nice or not, and it was. There was a shower stall and a toilet, it wasn't the nicest bathroom. But for a camp it was really nice, the cabins had AC, there was a rec room, and the beds had sheets already. It was a nice camp. It was clean, and they have a really pretty lake.
A/N I've never been to a camp so yea?
I walk back to the bed, going to the dressers. There were only two, so I guess everyone had to share. I took out a few things putting them in the top two drawers and placing some on the top of it.
After I had put most of my clothes, except for my boxers. Into the dresser I went back to sit on the bed, people were outside talking and playing sports already. I did not feel the need. I had just driven four hours to get to this camp, I just wanted to sit in bed.
I laid there resting my eyes for a few minutes until I heard the door open.
I looked up to see a brunette boy and a boy with black hair walk in, the walked over to the other bunks talking. The brunette put his bags on the top bunk, the other boy sat down then looked at me with a smile.
"Hey!" He said, "I'm Aiden." He told me, I nodded.
"I'm Tyler," I mumbled. The brunette turned to me, "Yo, I'm Blake." I gave them a small smile.
"The other guy come yet?" Blake asked I shrugged.
"Not that I know of," I said sitting up, Aiden nodded. "Well, we're going out to play soccer if you wanna join us."
"I'm good, thanks though. More of a basketball kind of guy."
"Alright, well see you later."
Then they left, I was alone again. I lay back down, but this time for a moment or two. The door swung open, I looked up to see a boy with pink hair and dark brown eyes. He's kind of attractive... I thought, he looked at the bunks seeing they were all taken but the one above me.
"Uh, is that one free?" He asked, I nodded slowly, still studying him.
I quickly shook my head.
"Yeah, sorry. Zoned out. Uh, my name is Tyler." I said awkwardly, he put his bags on his bed. So he was standing next to me, he didn't seem like the type to play sports.
"I'm Josh." He muttered when he stepped back, "Mind if I stay in here? I really don't want to play anything."
"Not really, and I don't wanna play because I'm tired too."
He chuckled a bit.
"No, like I was forced to come here. I don't want to play at all."
"Oh. Why were you forced to come?"
"My dad is a bitch, he thinks I don't do enough."
"Don't tell that many people, so many people have been going here most of their lives," I stated, some of the guys here are huge assholes. Josh seemed cool, guess I'll actually make some friends here this year.
Josh hopped up on his bed, "When's dinner?"
~
Josh is me bc all I'd care about is dinner if I was supposed to go to A sports camp..
