"We'll are ya or aren't ya?" I ask again.

This morning Mullen and I are going to see my aunt and brother. I grab his hand and gulp nervously as we walk away from the protection of our cave. It used to be just mine but I think it's better if it's both of ours. He looks at me; our eyes locked, and asks, "Are you nervous?"

I smile and giggle, "Well I guess. I mean I don't know if they're good or bad."

He smirks at my reply and shrugs when I ask him why. He's happy. I can tell. I am too. We're together. And happy.

"It's perfect..." I speak aloud.

"What?"

"Us. We are, together. Alive and safe and happy."

He smiles again and then it fades away as he asks me seriously, "What if they try to kill you?"

Me? I'm worried about Mullen right now.

"Mullen they won't. Just don't worry. I think I know why they really want..."

He looks at me and I keep going, "They want me."

He stops quickly and I almost walk away with his hand. I look at him and he shakes his head, "No. They're not getting you. NEVER EVER! Not again. I won't let it happen," he starts quiet but quickly begins shouting, making the morning joggers look at us like we're crazy.

"Mullen its fine. Let's just go, okay?"

He nods and we resume walking to the hospital. As we're walking, I look at him. He's astonishing. His bright eyes, his blonde hair, his lips, his walk, him. He notices my stare and looks over at me. Smiling, he lets go of my hand kisses me as we walk into the hospital. We walk up, now hand in hand again, to the front desk and ask which room my brother and aunt are in. The petite lady at the desk turns around quickly, causing her long flowing her black hair to hit Mullen in the face. She gives us a name and I thank her as we head to room 331 to visit my aunt. Still annoyed and spitting out hair, Mullen stops at her door. Inside we hear screams and shrieks and as we I open the door we see aunt struggling to anything she could pick at the doctors and nurses. But when she sees us she stops and sits down on her bed.

Mullen and I walk over to her and sit down in two chairs that she had pushed in the direction of a doctor a few moments ago. I can see that she looks better than earlier but she has a new bruise on her cheek.

"Why are you here?" She finally breaks the awkward silence.

I look at Mullen, "We needed to see you. I. I needed to see you. "

"Why?"

"Seriously! You almost killed my whole family and you got tortured and I never even knew about you or about my brother. I mean that he's alive. And..." I take a deep breath because I know I might want to kill her otherwise. She just shrugs and I leap up out of my chair. In seconds, I have my face inches away from hers and I'm yelling at her. Mullen lets me go for a while but when I start threatening to kill her he grabs he and pulls me away from her. He practically drags me out of her room and turns me to look into his piercing eyes. I gulp in as much air as I can but I don't know why. He looks at me and whispers my name in my ear as he hugs me tight. I don't know what to do so I break away and say to him, "I love you Mullen."

He smiles, "I love you Anne." I blush and look around. I feel awkward because everybody is staring at us. He must feel it too because he turns and starts towards the stairs so we can see my brother in room 402.

This time I knock and after a grunt which sounded like my brothers we entered. I smile when I see that he's alright. Even if he tried to kill me and everybody I love, I still smile.

"Make it quick, Anne!" He barks as soon as Mullen and I find a seat.

"What's the plan?" Mullen yells back.

"If you think we want her then you're wrong. We couldn't care less about her. You wanna know who we want, Mullen?" He spat out the last word as if it were bile on his tongue, "We want you!" He screams and then laughs. He laughs uncontrollably and won't stop no matter how much we scream at him to.

"Come on, Anne!" Mullen grabs my hand and pulls me out and I don't speak until we leave the hospital.

"Mullen!!!! We needed to hear what he was going to say. We could ha-" I stop as I see my brother staring at me from across the street. He's not in the hospital and I know that's him. And it was him in the hospital. I look around and everything is normal apart from my brother except for one thing. Taped to a lamp post next to me is a hand written note on a torn sheet of paper reading:

YOU CAN'T WIN THIS IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON, ANNE.

I gulp. He used to say that to me as a kid.
