I woke up and grabbed my phone. I typed the name Cadence Marks into my phone unlocking it. Cadence was a friend of mine. In fact one of my only friends. My other friend is Jonah but he's still alive. Cadence and I were tight basically married. In fact if it would save her she would be the only girl I would marry. She was the first person I met. First person I came out too but after I came out I wasn't sure if I really was or not. But she still kept my secret.

There was a knocking on my door then it swung open. Soon I saw Avery that was half asleep but still getting ready. "Come on dork we have to go to school." She said smiling coming in and getting me out of bed. "Right sorry." I had said getting out of bed and finding clothes. I grabbed a plain grey v neck and some skinny jeans and tied a flannel around my waist and put on my black Converse. I walked to the bathroom and brushed my teeth and hair and got ready quickly. And by quickly I mean under 20 minutes, but that was quick for me. Soon everyone was ready and Avery offered to drive me to school and I accepted.

As we drove into the parking spot people were littering the school yard with their bodies. As Avery and I got out of the car she locked it and put her keys in her pocket. She leaned over to me and spoke. "Hey there's Adam, go talk to him." She said as she slightly shoved me. I stumbled as my body hit another persons body. I stood up quickly and looked at the ground. "I'm sorry." I said not looking up. "Oh it's quite alright. And who are you?" The deep ish voice asked. "Ashton." I said. The voice chuckled. "Shy one are we?" He asked as his hand was placed on my chin he made my face look up at him. He blushes as did I, it was Adam. "Your Avery's gay adopted brother right?" He asked. How did he know that already? I guess Avery posted it to Instagram. "Uh um yeah." I said shyly. He smiled and wrapped his arm around my waist pulling me closer to him. "Well welcome to Greenwood high." He said enthusiastically.

As we walked through the halls some jocks called us fags as Adam showed me to my locker which was right next to his. "Oh yay your next to me. I was wondering who would take that locker. I was starting to think it was just one for the jocks to trap people into." He said jokingly. Obviously he noticed I didn't get it at first by my facial expression. He laughed nervously, "I'm kidding. Kidding. So um what do you like to do, Ashton right?" Adam asked me. "Yeah it's Ashton and uh I like to write and play video games." I said pulling out a Harry Potter book. "I see, and you like Harry Potter books as well?" Adam asked. I laughed nervously, "uh yeah I do." I said looking back at the book. "Wow, we couldn't be more a like." He said smiling as he grabbed my hand. I put the book away as he smiled and squeezed my hand. "Come on. What's your first class?" He asked as I responded saying English. He smiled and dragged me off down the halls. I followed him as he was still holding my hand.

The rest of the day felt like a blur. Until the last bell rang. Everyone stood up and left. I followed the crowd of students flooding into the halls as I tried to get to my locker. Once I elbowed past some people and got to my locker I was met by a very pleasant surprise, Adam. "Hey Ashton. How was your first day here?" He asked cheerfully. "Good. I can't wait to get out of here though." I said while slightly laughing. He caught along and started laughing to. "Hey so um do you wanna hangout sometime?" He asked. "Yeah totally here let me give you my number." I said smiling shyly once I gave him my number he disappeared into the crowded halls.

As I got into Avery's car I got more excited. I'm taking my drivers test today. Once Avery drove us home lily, sorry, mom took me to the place where I take the driving test.

"Oh honey I'm so proud that you passed!" My mom said hugging me. "Nice job, son." Said my dad as we walked into the house. "I take it he passed?" Avery asked. "Yes he did!" Mom exclaimed. Avery leaned over to me and whispered, "You're going to get taken to buy a car later today." And she was right, I did. I picked out a black sports car that was automatic transmission. I payed for half of it while they payed the rest and I offered to work until I payed the other half off but they said no.
