Chapter 5
Nikki's POV
After about 10 minutes, I heard the doorbell ring and sprinted downstairs. "I'll get it!" I yelled so Caity didn't stop whatever she was doing.
"Caylee!" I shouted
"Nikki!" Caylee shouted back, mocking my tone.
We hugged each other.
"Follow me!" I whispered into her ear.
We ran into my room and I showed her the two guy's sitting and talking.
"I can hear them!" Caylee almost screamed.
"Let's listen!" I replied.
Mitch: So what are you going to do?
Matt: What do you mean?
Mitch: About Nikki!
Matt: Ask her out... Break up with her when the time comes.
Mitch: Hold up! Break her heart?
Matt: Yeah, why?
Mitch: Don't you care about her at all?
Matt: Not really, wait... Do you?!
Mitch: No man! I just don't think it's right!
Matt: I don't care what's right Mitch, I'm still gonna do it.
The rest of the conversation was quiet and muffled, so Caylee an I leaned away from the window and faced each other.
"Nikki, you can't say yes, did you even hear that conversation?"
I guess she noticed the puppy-dog face I was wearing.
I stayed silent, I wasn't sure what I was thinking, Matt was cute, and I liked him, even after what he just said, but I knew that if I admitted it to Caylee, she would flip.
Honestly, I'm a terrible liar, even if I tried to tell Caylee I was okay to give up on him, she would see right through it. I decided to play it safe, and go with the... Not-so-full truth.
"I-I... I'm not sure what to do Caylee." I stuttered.
That's about when she slapped me.
