Jade nuzzled into Tori's back, her arms wrapped around the Latina's waist. A loud boom resounded through the house, waking the pale girl. She was sweating. Jade hated thunderstorms, much more than anything else. Getting up, she made her way to the hallway, intending to get to the kitchen. However, she had to make her way down the stairs. On wobbly legs, Jade went one step at a time, clutching onto the wood railing for dear life. A bright yellow light came, and then left after about one and a half seconds. "One Mississippi, two Miss-"

Another loud boom made its way throughout the house. Jade fell to her knees, not comprehending the fact that she was still on the stairs in her panicked state. She fell down the stairs, landing on her side when she hit the ground. A tear threatened to fall from her eye, but she didn't let it. She could do this. Another strike of lighting. The thunder came before she could start the word 'one'. Usually, Tori would be next to her, whispering comforting things to Jade, rubbing her back, and just being there to help. But Tori had a big day, singing and acting and all, as her girlfriend did.

"It's okay Jade. You can do this," the goth whispered to herself. She walked to the kitchen, using the various pieces of furniture to keep herself up and let her get her surroundings correct. When she finally got to the kitchen, another strike of lightning made itself noticeable. Right after it, thunder. Jades breath deepened and quickened. She was hyperventilating. Jade gripped the counter, trying to keep herself standing. She looked outside. She hadn't noticed that it was raining, but now she saw. It was down pouring. Jade turned on a light switch, lighting up the kitchen and some of the living room due to the spread of the light. She then reached her shaky hand to the refrigerator. Opening it, Jade grabbed a glass of iced tea. Her breath was slowing down, getting more even. She still clutched onto the counter, but kept a hand on her tea. Tori liked to call it Jade's Emergency Tea. She would be able to drink it if she was worried, sad, scared, or in need of help. Right now, it was all four. Jade slid down against the fridge after it closed, tears finally escaping her eyes as she clutched onto the mug of tea.

"Jade? Are you down here?"

It was Tori. Jade wanted to call out, but all she could manage was a measly whimper. Tori came into the kitchen, spotting Jade on the floor in front of the fridge, holding her Emergency Tea. Jade put the tea next to her shakily, hugging her knees to her chest.

"Awe, baby," Tori smiled gently, walking up to Jade. "It's only a thunderstorm," she said, kneeling down in front of the girl, and moving a stray strand out of her hair. Another streak of lightning, another boom of thunder, and another whimper escaping Jade's mouth. "Hey, calm down," Tori sat next to Jade, on the other side of the tea, and wrapped her arm around the paler girls shoulders. Jade leaned against Tori, more tears rolling down her face. "Do you wanna sit on the couch or something?"

Jade nodded, but didn't move.

"You've gotta help me here, Babe," Tori said, getting onto her feet and attempting to pull Jade up. Jade eventually stood, shaky legs beneath her. "It's okay, you're doing great," Tori said, her arm going around Jades waist for support. "Do you wanna go to the couch first, or try to go directly up to our bedroom?" Tori needed Jade to speak now, or she wouldn't hear a word out of the girl for the next week. It had happened before.

"Couch," Jade managed, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Can you say it again?" Tori heard what Jade said, but she didn't speak it. She whispered it.

"Couch," Jade said louder, her hand gripping Tori's shirt.

"Very good," Tori praised. Jade stayed silent, but inside, she was glad to get a praise from her girlfriend, like a proud dog getting a treat. They walked to the couch, Tori sitting in the corner and Jade sitting in the center. "I'm going to get your tea. Do you think you can stay here for a few seconds?"

"Yeah," Jade said, pulling her knees to her chest once again.

"That's my girl," Tori kissed the top of Jade's head, and speed walked to the kitchen in order to get the tea.

With another bolt of lightning, and another crash of thunder, the power went out. "Tori!"

Tori heard Jade yell her name, and she quickened her pace. She grabbed a flashlight, found the tea, and brought it to Jade, who was crying. Sobs could be heard coming from the goth girl. "Hey hey hey," Tori ran to Jade, placing the cup of tea on a nearby table. She enveloped Jade in a hug, who was crying harder than Tori had seen before. "It's okay. I have a flashlight, so we can see," Tori said, holding up a flashlight. Jade nodded, her breaths shallow. "It's okay, Jade. Do you want to go upstairs?"

"Y-yeah," Jade said quietly.

Tori stood, holding her hand out to Jade. She didn't move. Sighing, Tori picked Jade up bridal style. Jade nuzzled her head into Tori's chest, only a slightly smile coming from the girl.

When they got to their room, Tori set Jade down on the bed, covering her with blankets. She climbed in next to her, and wrapped her arms around Jade. They were facing each other, so Jade nuzzled into Tori's chest, using the Latina's body heat for warmth. They fell asleep silently.
