First, lets address a common problem people have with identifying Baccas. They are not animals. Do they animal instincts and behaviors? Yes. Does that make them animals? No. They are another race of people, just like humans or elves or hybrids. Ok now that's out of the way, time to start
Key Physical Features: Baccas are hard to miss and nearly impossible to mix up with the other races. They are tall, very tall. Their average height is the equivalent of a tall human or elf. They are also covered in a thick yet soft coat of brown fur. Due to this, they can live in cold climates with no problem. They also have fully black eyes that are kinda like round orbs. They are equipped with razor sharp claws and fangs that can easily be used in replacement of a weapon. Due to their large build, many think that Baccas are over weight when in reality, they are nothing but muscle under their fur. Another misconception is that Baccas have no ears. They may not have ears like humans or elves but they do have ear slits like birds or reptiles.
Skills: Baccas are the masters of combat. They can easily learn to use any weapon, even bows, but most prefer to use an axe. Most people believe that Baccas just wildly attack but I've come to learn they are more calculated with their strikes then we give them credit for. Another amazing ability they have is there sense of smell. Their nose is actually more powerful then most animals and even stronger than some breeds of dogs known for tracking. Though they are not fast runners and get winded very easily, their strength and ability to climb and jump from trees easily make up for this.
Lack of Skills: Like I stated earlier, Baccas are not meant for running. They also get weighed down in water by their fur and most don't know how to swim. This unfortunately is a big issue for Baccas, especially young ones who don't know to stay away from lakes. And lastly, Baccas aren't the.. most intelligent creatures. Sure their survival and combat knowledge are outstanding but most don't know how to read or write and have problems solving puzzles and other complicated situations.
Behavior: It may seem weird to say an entire race shares behavior characteristics but they do. First is there competitive nature of strength. They often hold friendly competitions to prove who is stronger. Another huge component is family. For a Bacca, family and friends are one of, if not, the most important thing to them. They like to bond through cuddling and taking naps together. Oh that's another thing. They eat and sleep A LOT. If you're trying to wake one up, just pour some water on their head. it's much easier
Controversy: I was dreading writing this part.... There is a lot of controversy surrounding Baccas. One is people believe they are aggressive savages that will attack anything. Now are there clans of Baccas that purposely do this? Yes. But before you jump up and grab your pitchforks, look at the other races. Humans attack, kill, raid and hurt others AND eachother all the time. Most bandits are human. Elves do this too. Baccas are and have been receiving the same treatment as hybrids have. They are unfairly judged. And going back to them attacking, some Baccas attack because they're scared. They're just trying to protect their families in a world where Bacca Hunters are slaughtering and selling their fur. Where humans are cutting down their forests, the main place where Baccas live. They're just trying to survive and we're treating them like they don't matter. So before you call a Bacca "savage", look at the things your race has done and think about how Baccas bond. They CUDDLE. CUDDLE!! I don't know what's more friendly and adorable than that!
Baccas and Elves: Ah yes... This topic. I won't lie, I'm not a HUGE expert on this topic but I know enough. Basically Baccas and Elves have been at war for CENTURIES!! Why? I don't know. I don't even think the Baccas and Elves know either. It's just been ingrained into their head to hate eachother. Literally. I have met Baccas and Elves who have a natural instinct to attack the other race. And it's a never ending cycle. Baccas attack the Elves, Elves attack back in anger then more Baccas attack or vice versa. It's kinda ridiculous. But there are exceptions (as you will see later on). I have met a very unlikely pair that shows that Baccas and Elves can get along and end this war.Oddballs: I. LOVE. These guys. So Oddball is a term Baccas use to describe Baccas that don't fit the "standard" of Baccas. Some Oddballs have small changes, like their fur is a different color or they're shorter than normal. Others are BIG differences. The ones who really get treated differently are ones with different behaviors. These Baccas are often ones who avoid combat and aggression which is taboo for Baccas. Other big differences are Baccas with a lack of smell or a higher intelligence. Now yes these Baccas are treated differently but trust me. If an Oddball is in danger, any Bacca will protect it.
Food and habitat: Baccas can live anywhere but they prefer jungles or forests ( so trees. they like living in trees) and will build tree villages. As for food, they will eat anything but cooked fish. They LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE raw fish. I can't emphasize it enough. Want to make friends with a Bacca? Give it a raw fish. Just avoid cooked fish. Baccas are deathly allergic. Scientist are still trying to figure out why but when they think that when a fish is cooked, it releases something that is toxic to Baccas. Oh yeah. They also love potatoes
OK I think that's all you need to know. If I think of anything later on, I'll tell you. Now I'm going to tell you about the 10 Baccas I met at the Budder Kingdom and had the pleasure to study. They're all Oddballs by the way and I'm pretty sure at least half of them were unfortunately experimented on.
(YAY for Baccas! So this book is just a way to let my imagination run free and to tell someone about my fluffies (Cause I'm pretty sure my best friend is ready to slap me if I don't stop ranting about them to her). But yeah! This is just a little fun book :3 Next we'll be going into the Bios if the Baccas I made. See ya peeps)
