A/N: I found the prompt of one of the characters not being able to sleep or something along those lines, so I jumped at the chance of SolKat. I might do a pairing other than SolKat in a different version, but today is not that day.

~~~Starting point~~~
You're not one for a lot of sleep, but you got into the mood for actual rest. You decided that coding just wasn't the thing to do right now and exhaustion got the best of you. You're buried to the neck in sopor and you are trying your damnedest to fall asleep, but now it's 2 in the whatever--you really cannot bring yourself to look up and figure it out--so instead you continue tossing and turning as much as you can without disturbing KK. You don't want to get out of the sopor, you may have not fallen asleep but sopor still made you sluggish. You yawn again for the 300th time and purr unhappily, frowning softly.
You actually think you might need KK awake for this. He could put you to sleep instantly with his stupid petting and gentleness and cooing at you like you were a grub. You hated it, but it worked. But, waking him up was hell mixed in with more hell. He was a deep sleeper and waking him up is getting grumpy attitude and him falling back to sleep every five seconds. But, you decided to be a grown troll about this and wake him up. You roll over so you were facing him.
"KK." One poke to his side and...no response. He continues snoring, mocking you with his ability to rest so easily. Focus, Sollux, now is not the time for spite.
"KK." Another poke and this time a louder mumble of his nickname (or his name, according to you, seeing as you don't call him by his full name), and he stirs the tiniest bit, which isn't a lot but shows that you are making progress. Try, try again. You don't say anything this time and just poke him harder and insistently until you get a little upset grumble and you see him shift. Yes, better, keep going.
"KK, you're awake, thtop it." You huff impatiently and his eyes flutter open at that, seemingly glowing in the darkness. You beam, pleased that he's actually up and apparently not grumpy and gogdamnit all he is. He won't be once you explain your situation to him or maybe he will be. Gog only knows.
"What do you fuckin' what?" When he's sleepy, he forgets 'g' is a letter that can sometimes go after 'in', but the day that you care is the day his voice when he just wakes up stops getting to your extremities. It's like...like a growl mixed with British accent, but it's not intimidating. It's just plain sexy. Jegus, you love him. "Sollux, I swear to fucking Gog, it is two in the fucking morning. If you woke me up for nothing, I will rip your horns off and feed them to you after I stab you in the gogdamn eyes with them."
You snap out of your daydream and look at him as seriously as you can after thinking about what you were thinking about. "I, uhm, can't thleep." You frown when he sighs, but then beam when he slides into your side of the 'coon. You then frown after realizing your sopor on this side would be purple now and you'll have to filter it all out in the morning and it's just a hassle. You continue frowning about it like the grub you are when he lays you down next to him and cuddles you gently. You purr and cuddle him back, letting him rest your head against his chest so he can let out a relaxing purr for you. He massages your scalp and the base of your horns, putting you to sleep almost instantly.
When you wake up again, it's evening. You have never slept so long in your life. KK isn't by you and that makes you sad because you want him next to you. He's warm, a lot warmer than you and everyone else, but it wasn't bad. You lift your head up and find him watching a romcom on his husktop and trying to not show he's crying all over the place, so you know he's okay. That just means you can sleep more.
~~~Finish line~~~

A/N: I wrote this and am proud of this. I really like my Sollux, guys. He is sass, sass is him. That's probably why I write him so much. Until next time. - Sollux
