Chapter Six - The Honeymoon[edited]
August 2015
Melanie's POV
I haven't talked to anyone since I woke up in the hospital which was three nights ago and I feel extremely lonely.
I can't find Malek anywhere, the maids are told to work and not talk, I'm giving Alexander the silent treatment, and my mother won't answer her phone. At this point I would take a dog to keep me company.
I brush the idea off and for a while I'm fine with being alone for the moment, but after two more episodes of "The Originals" I pick up the landline and dial for Malek.
He was probably the only person that wanted to be in my company, so I sit back down on the couch and wait for him.
"Hey Melanie." I hear his voice call as he rounds the couch and sits next to me.
"Well there's the ghost," I joke, "haven't seen you in a while."
"You would've seen me sooner if you didn't go and trip over that rug or yourself?" He laughs, "speaking of which how are those stitches?"
Malek moves closer and moves my hair out of my face to examine the nasty looking stitches near my hairline. He's pretty close to me and I'm surprised that I am not uncomfortable.
"Oh wow, that's... gross." He grimaced and inflates his cheeks as if he were about to vomit just at the sight of my sealed up wound. I scowl at him and not so playfully punch his arm.
"Woah firecracker, you've got quite a punch." He says rubbing his shoulder. I smile glad he felt the pain, it made me feel stronger than I felt in our first training session.
"Yeah and there's more where that came from so don't test me, Mr. Tough bodyguard. Anyway, where had you run off to?" I ask, I couldn't help being curious, that was the least he could do considering I'm letting my guard down and being casual with him. He follows me around all day and then suddenly I'm all alone in this huge house, I deserve answers.
"Well after your husband decided to punch me in the face, he couldn't stand to see it, so he told me to leave." Malek explains, there was no question that he was beyond annoyed with Alexander.
"So you actually left, that only boosted his ego," I said rolling my eyes, "and please refrain from using the term husband when regarding him, it makes me want to throw up."
"Wow, so much love you two have for each other, and you don't think I actually let him have the pleasure of knowing he got me to do what he wanted me to, I just stayed in my room until he left." He scoffed.
"Good, two points for us, zero for Alexander." I grinned mischievously laughing. Malek didn't find my joke as humorous, he really didn't like Alexander.
"Anyway, what is this show, this guy has been shot about fifty times with those arrow things and he hasn't fallen yet." He throws his hand up towards the tv shaking his head.
"That hunk of fine hybrid man," I nod towards Klaus, "is Klaus Michaelson. The original hybrid and the love of my life."
"You don't even know hi-" Malek starts but I cut him off. I already knew what was coming.
"Oh hush Malek and watch the show."
~Melanie wandered about the villa with no real goal in mind if nothing to just pass some time. She hadn't been in Tahiti for what seemed like forever for her, so the house seemed to change without visitors.
