His huge hand wraps around my small baby hands as I take his grasp. I told him where I reside, in my apartment, and he tugs on my hand to lead me to the way of my apartment. It was only a few minutes until we arrived behind the building. I guess I really did take a wrong turn... Maybe a few wrong turns.
"Thank you.." I say to him, feeling my cheeks blush as I look into his eyes. I didn't realize how good looking he is until now.
"It's not a problem, I'm happy to help," he smiles sweetly. The man was about to turn and leave.
Until I say, "You're the first person to have helped me."
He looks at me and smiles wider. "I'll help you from now on, anything you need and I'll be here for you."
I felt my heart beat faster. He turned around and left, I watched him disappear into the distance before shutting the door. That was when I realized that I didn't even ask for his name. Sighing, I shut my door and lock it before heading to the kitchen. I make a light snack of sliced strawberries to eat while I finish my essay. I'm so close to graduating from college, just a few more essays to go.
It's past midnight by the time I finish the essay. Yawning, I get up and head to my bedroom, slipping under the blankets. It's hard for me to fall asleep, and sleeping pills don't help at all.. but recently I found something that made me fall asleep. I plug my earbuds into my ears and turn on my phone. To fall asleep, I play a recording of someone's heartbeat. It calms me and makes me feel like someone's with me, keeping me safe.
Just a minute in and I'm already drifting into the darkness of sleep. I let the sound of this heartbeat envelop me with open arms.

Waking up by my abrupt alarm, I turn it off and take out my earbuds. I get up and hop into the shower. Usually I always get up an hour before I need to head towards campus. After cleansing myself, I slip into black leggings and a large sweater. Picking up my bag, I make sure to put my essay in my binder. I'm not going to forget it this time.
After drying my hair and having an omelette for breakfast, I head out and start walking to school. I still look like a freshman from high school although I'm in my last year of college. Maybe it's because I'm small. In about 15 minutes, I arrive on campus and I walk into my homeroom classroom to hear a bunch of gossiping. As I sit down at my desk, my ears listen at what a group of girls are talking about.
"Did you hear the news about what happened last night?"
"Yes! It's so scary.. I can't believe someone would do that."
"Just thinking about it gives me shivers... Blood everywhere.. eeek!"
I ignore it, as this has been happening recently. It makes me uncomfortable to imagine those scenes, but it also makes me interested to investigate what happened.. since that is apart of my major. I want to become a detective or prosecutor. Sigh. Such hard work. Finally, I turn in my essay to the teacher's desk and I go back to put my head down on my desk and just collapse.

Finally the day of school is over. Just a few more essays, I'm telling myself. And then I can go into investigating, I squeal to myself. Smiling, I walk out the building in a happy mood. The man from last night is there by the gate again. He looks up and smiles at me, waving towards my direction. I walk over to him and greet him. "Hello." I grin.
"I couldn't help but wonder.. what is your name? Forgive me, I forgot to ask the other day," He asks me politely. The smile on his lips makes my heart warm up immediately.
"I'm Lee Mwimi." I say, smiling up at him. "What is yours?"
"Kim Seokjin, but you can call me Jin." He says, reaching his hand up to gently pat my head. His warm hand makes me feel safe once more. "Do you want me to take you home again?" Jin asks.
I think about it for a moment, "That would be nice! But I want to buy a smoothie first... if that's okay?"
He nods and smiles. "Sure, I'll drive you." We walk over to his black car. The windows were tinted and I couldn't see anything inside. Jin opens the passenger door for me and I climb in, buckling the seat belt as he closes the door. His car smelled nice and calming, almost putting me to sleep. He climbs into the drivers seat and starts the car. His hands looked so big on the steering wheel, they were pretty.
Soon, we arrive at a small coffee shop. There's not a lot of people in the store so there was no line when we walked in. I walk up to the counter and order a strawberry banana smoothie. The cashier looked agitated and took my order quickly. I guess he's not having a good day today. Surprised, I jump slightly as Jin places his hands on my shoulder. He starts massaging them gently. At first I felt awkward, but I couldn't help but melt at the touch of his hands. Jin continued massaging my shoulders until my order was ready.
I grab the plastic cup and head back into the car with Jin. He starts driving and heads towards my apartment. I couldn't help but think about how the smell of his car makes me want to fall asleep. Maybe it was just me. I look at Jin who is driving and notice he doesn't seem sleepy at all, so I assume that it's just my take of this scent. We arrive at my apartment and I get out of his car. "Thank you for driving me home." I say.
He smiles and walks me up to my door. "It's not a problem, I don't have much to do anyways."
"Ah.. do you.. want to come in? F-For a snack?" I ask, awkwardly. He may be a stranger but I haven't talked to anyone like this for a while.
"I would love to, but I actually need to go do something right now," Jin grins at me, "Hopefully, next time I can." We wave each other our goodbyes and I close the door as he gets into his car. I notice my cheeks are flustered by the mirror in the living room as I walk by it. Sipping my smoothie, I couldn't help but think about his face and kind words.
