I was sat alone, with only Cale to keep me company. I was sat down on a tree stump, inside his house, which acted as a seat. He was talking me through all of his potions and jars.

"I heard about the spell placed on you, and I'm going to try and reverse it for you."

No, I felt like screaming out. I was beginning to panic. I knew that I was awake, but I couldn't move or say anything. I couldn't even stop the dream, due to this.

"I have combined a mixture of tear drops from a mermaid, a teaspoon of violet pixie dust and some magic from a unicorns horn. This should remove the spell."

I began to calm down, believing that he was actually trying to help me, until I saw him add a drop of something neon green. My skin crawled as I read the label on the bottle.

'Snake Venom.'

He began to stir the foul smelling mixture, in his cauldron-like bowl. It had turned from a beautiful shade of lilac, with a hint of pale blue mixed in, to a dark, crimson red. I tried to escape, but discovered that my feet and hands were tied together. He knew that I would try to leave.

He tilted my head back, despite my struggled attempts to stop him. He hovered the bottle of crimson liquid above my mouth, ready to pour it in.

The first few drops landed on my tongue and I gagged. It tasted as vile as it smelt. I faked a swallow, still holding the potion in my mouth. I wasn't sure how I was supposed to react after the potion, or how quickly the affects would happen, so I waited for a few minutes.

Cale's owl hooted, causing me to jump. I felt the liquid I held in my mouth slip down my throat, without warning. Stupid owl, I thought to myself. Like in the hologram, Cale repeated his evil, mad laugh. A sharp pain ran through my head and I could my heart beating there.

I shot up, out of my bed, relieved to be awake. I took a look around, making sure that I was back in the hotel and not Cale's house. The strong winter sun rays shone through the small gaps in the blinds. I covered my hands with my eyes.

I pulled the covers back, climbing out of bed.  I wasn't sure what to do. I was debating about whether I should go downstairs or not. If the queen was down there, I'm sure she would go crazy, but if she wasn't, I might wake her up, and I didn't want to do that.

I heard three footsteps walk past my door, and I finally settled on the decision to go downstairs. I ran down the flight of stairs, slowing down to a walk when I came to the bottom few. I saw Amethyst, and I put my head down, hoping that she hadn't seen me.

I made my way over to a quiet place, with four empty seats. The area I had chose to sit in was pretty much deserted, apart from an elderly couple. I picked up a book that had been left out on the table. I was about to put it back in the bookshelf behind me, when I caught a glimpse of the title.

'The Warlock's Escape.'

I've heard about that book before. Apparently, all those who have read past the first chapter, have mysteriously vanished. They say that the book comes alive; the characters pop out of the pages, and you get sucked into them. Of course, I didn't believe it.

I felt a strange urge to open up the book, although I knew that I didn't want to. My hand reached out for it, and just as I was about to the book up, a hand stopped me. I detached my eyes from the book and saw Isaac.

"I wouldn't read that if I were you."

I nodded. "I know. I've heard about it."

He sat down in the seat next to me.

"So, where's your mum?" I asked.

"She had to go to the ice castle to visit the princess."

"You have a sister?"

He nodded. "Yeah, but I'm not allowed to see her anymore."

I decided to change the subject. He seemed to have a few family complications.

"What if your mother finds out about the spell?"

He shrugged. "She'll blame it on one of us- preferably me."

I smiled a little at the way he said the last part.

"So, we go to Lantern lake and try to avoid her." He said, a tiny hint of hope in his voice.

"Lantern Lake?"

"Yeah. It's one of my favourite places to go. It has an amazing view."

I agreed to go with him. After all, it did sound like fun.

We got outside and he started to ask me questions about earth.

"What's it like on Earth?"

I glanced at him. "It's pretty much the same as here, minus the fairies and other magical things of course."

He laughed. "Nothing different then?"

"Well, there are some things. Like for example, I get tricked by a wizard, meet a queen and a prince, and, well, you get the point."

He smiled. "What's your favourite thing about Earth?"

I thought for awhile. "Probably the fact that there's so much beauty to see and new or unexplained things that we've yet to discover out there."

"It's crazy to think that there's a city or a civilization that still hasn't been discovered or found. I'd love to live on Earth sometimes."

"Earth isn't always the best or safest place to be."

He raised his eyebrows. "And here is?"

I laughed.

I could feel the sun shining on my back. It was warm, considering it was nearly Christmas. Thinking of Christmas reminded me of my family. Are they wondering where I am? Do they miss me? What if I never get to see them again?

I started to feel dizzy. It looked as though the whole world was spinning around. My vision

I got snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Isaac calling my name. I shook my head.

"Sorry." I glanced at him awkwardly. "W-what were you saying?"

I started to feel dizzy. It looked as though the whole world was spinning around. My vision was slightly blurry, only allowing me to see gold dots flying in the air. I felt lightheaded, like I walking on clouds.

He looked at me, concerned. "Forget that. Are you ok?"

I nodded, ignoring the jolt of pain that flew through my chest. The slight breeze blew in my face, sounding a lot louder than it was supposed to be.

"No you're not." He placed the back of his hand against my forehead. "You're boiling. I think you have a fever."

"No. I'm fi-"

"Stop denying it. We should go back."

I tried to protest, but he wouldn't listen to me. I felt my eyelids getting heavy, and I fought the tempting urge to close them. After a few minutes of walking, the sharp jolt from before came back and stayed. I could feel my eyes closing, and I couldn't stop them. I could hear Isaac saying something to me, but I couldn't work out what. The next thing I knew, darkness had taken over me.
