Two chapters in one day:)

My friend is taking over for the next few chapters! She read over the story a few times and has some ideas for it. I find you'll enjoy her writing a lot more because she's like a Hey Arnold! professional, and she writes longer chapters. There will also be a bonus POV in this chapter.

Arnold's P.O.V

Helga woke up around eight, a few hours after I did. Grandpa had been talking to me downstairs about getting an eye exam because I had been having a lot of trouble with my vision since last night.

I knew Helga had been awake because I could hear her throwing up.

I eventually ran upstairs and held her hair back. Although she was hungover, there was no way she'd get two seconds in the washroom without one of the borders knocking down the door. So I got some plastic bags.

She told me she had a faint memory, so I went over the events of last night with her. I didn't tell her about when I asked about her wrists, and also left out the part about that Australian guy that occupied her. She was confused but also intrigued, but at first she didn't believe me and thought I was just making up a cool story to match my black eye.

"You probably just ran into a door." She snickered.

I rolled my eyes.

I did schedule an eye exam. I had previous problems with my eyes that I never payed much attention to, so I decided it would be better if I did. It was a few days from now; I figure it would be easier to assess my eyes when they weren't completely swollen over.

"Well I'm sorry you had to go through all that trouble." She shrugged.

"It's not your fault, really." I rubbed the back of my neck.

She grabbed her stomach which was obviously hurting her. "I'm never touching alcohol again. Ever."

"Pancakes!" Grandma ran into the kitchen holding a towering stack that was nearly going to fall over.

Helga looked surprised for some reason, like she hadn't seen food in years.

"What's wrong?" I asked, she just shrugged again.

"I don't usually eat breakfast."

That made sense. Her parents probably didn't pay enough attention to feed her, or maybe even themselves.

"Well, we better get going." She hadn't even touched her food, but I didn't ask questions.

I slung my backpack over my shoulder and slid my shoes on.

"If anyone asks, we ran into each other along the way." she whispered as we exited the boarding house.

Gerald's P.O.V [BONUS]

I was real shaken about last night. I'd ran into the last person I'd ever want to in a million years. I wanted to tell Arnold what had really been going on, but I figure I'll tell him when the time was right. But Arnold was worrying me. He was real injured, and he hadn't been taking good care of himself. He texted me about his eye appointment but that's all I had known.
