Prologue

She was running through the trees, dodging branches and tree roots. It was pitch black. She could hardly see the trees that were in front of her. The wind howled as she ran for her life.

"Violet! Stop running, can we just talk about this."

The voice called out to her, Violet knew that if she stopped that she would never be free. She kept running, she could hear footsteps from behind her as they got closer. She tried her best to jump over a large tree root but it caught her foot and she fell into a large bush. She could hear the footsteps getting closer and she held her breath.

"Violet! Where are you? If you come out now I will let you off with a warning this time."

The footsteps passed by where she was hiding and disappeared. Violet let out a sigh of relief and waited a few more minutes to make sure it was safe. She crawled out from the bushes and stood up. She brushed off the leaves and dirt that stuck onto her pants.

She looked around to see where she was. There were trees everywhere. There was no path that led out of the forest. She kept looking around, but she heard leaves crunch behind her. She froze and slowly turned around to see where the noise came from. She let out a breath that she did not know she was holding. A small deer was watching her from a small path in the trees. Violet watched as the deer slowly aproched her but it froze. It's eyes grew large with fright, it quickly retreated back into the forest. Violet sensed someone behind her.

"Who's there?" She asked quietly.

But before she could turn to see who was behind her, she felt a sharp pain on the back of her head. Then everything went black.
