Violet awoke with a pounding headache. She reached for her head to assess her wound, bandages were wrapped around her head and the scrapes on her body were treated. She looked around her surroundings, trying to figure out where she was.

She was in a small bedroom, the walls were made of wood and there was one window showing the forest outside. She was laying on a large twin sized bed, the comforter was pure white and four pillows sat behind her. In the far corner of the room, a wooden dresser resided. Violet wondered if there were any clothes in the drawers, but she was too dizzy to attempt to look. She tried to remember what happened to her in the forest, but every time she tried to access her memories pain pounded through her head. Violet knew she could not stay in this unfamiliar place and she started planning her escape. Attempting to slide off the bed onto her feet, she used the night stand beside the bed as her crutch.

She was plagued by a wave of nausea that almost made her tumble to the floor, after a few minutes of heavy breathing, she was ready to go through with her plan. Violet started by looking through the window to see how far she was off the ground. Her first plan was to jump out the window if she was low enough to the ground, but when she pushed it open. She was almost overcome with despair to realize the bedroom was on the second floor of the building. Turning away from the window, she looked around the room trying to find material to make a rope by tying them together. Walking slowly towards the clothes drawer, trying not to make a sound, she opened each cabinet looking for something that could help her. But she was surprised to realize that all the drawers were empty except one. A white dress was folded neatly in the drawer with a note on top.

With shaking hands, she grabbed the note and read it softly aloud to herself. It said, "I thought you would like something to wear other than your grass stained clothes, but don't worry I'm washing your original clothes so they will be as good as new." Violet looked down at her attire and she realized that she was wearing a white nightgown with pink flowers embroided on the fabric. She studied the handwriting on the note for a minute longer and she came to a realization. The writing on the note looked to be written by a male, she gasped and quickly dropped the note. She thought to herself that the man who wrote the note changed her clothes when she was unconscious. He saw her in her underwear and put new clothes on her, Violet's face turned red as an apple and her hands covered her face in embarrassment. Taking deep calming breaths, she uncovered her face and picked up the dress from the dresser.

She studied the dress with a critical eye, the dress was as white as snow and light pink butterflies were all along the bottom half. Lace spread across the top half and buttons were lined down the front. Violet went to place the dress back into the dresser, when she faintly heard footsteps coming towards the bedroom door. She froze in fear thinking of the worst scenarios her brain could come manifest, dropping the dress on the floor, she quickly ran towards the door to try and block it with her body. She heard the lock on the door click signaling that the door had been unlocked from the outside, before the nob started turning on the door, Violet slammed her body against the door and pushed with all her might to keep the stranger outside. She could feel the intruder push back against the door lightly, trying to see how hard she was pressing against the door. Violet heard the man sigh in exasperation, he removed his weight from the door and cleared his throat.

The man said in a soft voice, "Violet, I'm not going to hurt you. Do you not remember who I am? We've known each other since we were kids and I can't believe you would forget the sound of my voice." Violet felt shivers course through her body at the sound of the man's voice, "I don't know you and how do I know that you aren't lying to me. I doubt you have any proof to prove your claims. So leave me alone and let me leave this place!" She heard the man sigh in disappointment and laugh softly to himself. "Give me a few minutes to find your proof and I can't let you leave yet. I have a few questions to ask you about why you were running around in the woods and why you seemed scared out of your mind." Violet's blood ran cold and she remembered why she was in the woods in the first place. She cleared her throat and said coldly, "If you want to stay alive, you will stay out of my business and let me go without asking me any questions." She heard the man step closer to the door and say in a low dangerous voice, "You don't understand Violet, your business has become my business, so if you will kindly let me into my bedroom and answer my questions then we can solve whatever is plaguing you."

Violet swallowed loudly, "You can't help me solve this problem, he will never stop until he gets he finds me again." She gasped loudly and quickly covered her mouth. "I shouldn't have said that, pretend you didn't hear a thing!" The man slowly started to put pressure on the door once more, "Who are you talking about? Who is he?" Violet wrapped her arms around herself and slowly dropped to the floor, sitting against the door she whispered, "He is the one who that caused me to lose my memories, he is like the devil, but comparing him to the devil would be to kind. He is worse than the devil, his name is..."
