What could the Councilwoman want from her? She was a Scholar and was doing her Labor correctly. Jessica was hesitant to open the small white envelope. She slowly broke the seal and removed the single sheet of paper inside. She unfolded the sheet of paper and started to read.
Dear Jessica(09127):
As our fathers and forefathers have requested, the council summons you to now reside at in the Facility, in which you will Labor. You will receive food and a place to stay, and necessities. You have been summoned. If you fail to arrive at the appointed time, you will face capital punishment from this council. Beware the repercussions of disobedience.
Councilwoman Cristal
This was the exact same letter her sister had received, and she had read yesterday. She realized what was going on. Everyone was going into this Facility, and she knew for sure not everyone was going to come out with their lives.
                      _______________
Jessica went to the Councilwoman's office to speak with her about her summons. When she arrived at the desk, behind it was a short old black lady with glasses with a chain.
"Hi, I'm here to speak with Councilwoman Cristal." Jessica said.
The old black lady looked at her above her baby blue glasses, and said softly,
"Third door on the left. Be careful in there."
Jessica walked down and knocked on the door.
"Enter." she said coldly.
When she entered the office, the Councilwoman was standing at the printer. About fifty pieces of paper came out of the printer, and Jessica could tell that they were the exact same letter she had received just days prior. She took the letters back to her desk and began signing each letter without looking up.
"What seems to be the problem?." She said, still not acknowledging her with her eyes.
"I've been summoned to the Facility..." she said softly.
"If you're here to refute, I'm just doing my job as Chair of the Council. You're going to the Facility, end of story. You may leave my office know Number 09127."

The next morning she  began to pack her belongings. She was leaving for the facility at 9, and she slept until 8:30 that day. She was rushing to put all 10 of her outfits in her case and be outside the door for the van to pick her up.
                       _______________
When the van came, she got inside, still unclear what lied ahead. The Van drove outside of the Lines of Boundary, and they were in No Man's Land. In the distance she could see the building in the distance.
