"ouch! that hurt, daniel!" a small girl of only five shouted at the six year old boy standing over her.
"you were in my way," he sneered with his arms crossed over his chest.
the little girl fumed, "no, i wasn't!" it's true. the small boy had aimed for her. "you're just a bully! i'm telling on you to ms. zoe!" but just as she stood back up, he pushed her back down. "hey! that's not nice!"
"neither is being a tattletale," he said while sticking out his tongue.
"leave her alone," another boy stepped in. he must not have been in her class since she didn't recognize him. "pushing isn't nice."
daniel turned to the boy, "what are you gonna do about it?"
"trust me," the little boy said, "you don't want to find out."
daniel gulped, "oh yeah?"
"yeah," he said, eyes glinting with a color that didn't seem humanly possible to have.
daniel scoffed and ran off from the little girl and the little boy, finding a new victim to bully.
the little boy held out his hand to the little girl, "thank you," she said. "i'm grace, what's your name?"
"i'm--"
a whistle blew from grace's teacher, and the small girl looked over, "recess is over! line up!"
however, when the grace looked back to the little boy, he was no longer there. but it didn't trouble her long, and soon she forgot about the boy who helped her from daniel the bully. what was the point of remembering someone you would never see again?
