Chapter Eight- A Little Visit

Melody's POV:

Every day now I decide to give Kristen a big hug before I go to school because I feel like it could be the last time I'll see her alive. Kristen doesn't know if she'll be gone any time soon, but the doctor told her that if she would've found out earlier that something was wrong, they could've done something. All we can do now is wait.

Kristen picks us up from school today. She has a weak smile on her face. "I got some tests done today." She says as I buckle my seat belt. "Oh? Do you have anything to tell us?" I ask. I notice Alex look out the window. "They said... I don't have a lot of time left. A month at the most." Kristen says calmly. I see Alex's eyes start to well up with tears. "So every weekend from now on, we're going to have the most fun as possible, alright?" Kristen tells us. "Yeah. That'll be great. I say as Alex turn her head around to look at Kristen. "I don't want you to die, Kristen! You're going to survive, I know you will!" Alex yells. She starts crying. Kristen parks the car and gives Alex a big hug. I join and it becomes an awkward group hug in our little car.

Once every tear is dried, we walk into our apartment. I ask Kristen if it's okay for Dan and Phil to come visit. I explain that I want her to meet them before she... Passes. Kristen agrees and I text Phil an ok. About 10 minutes later, the tall young men show up, showering Alex and me in hugs. Phil and Dan walk up to Kristen. Phil extends his hand. "I'm Phil, this is Dan. Nice to met you." He says, shaking Kristen's hand. "Yeah I'm Dan. I've heard about your... Situation and you have mine and Phil's respect." Dan says awkwardly. Kristen nods.

Kristen eventually breaks the awkward silence with saying, "Ok does anyone want some coffee or something?" "No let me make it, Kristen. You should relax." Phil offers. "But I love making coffee. Maybe you could help me?" "Sure." Phil says and smiles. They walk into the kitchen and Dan takes a selfie with me and Alex. He posts it to Instagram. I can't help but feel happy when Dan and Phil are around.

We all end up having a great time sharing memories, embarrassing and awkward moments. Dan brings up an idea to show us around London. Kristen immediately agrees and says we should head out tomorrow since it's Saturday. Dan and Phil say it's fine with them and that they could vlog a little day in the life. Alex starts to brighten up at the idea of being in a video. Eventually, everything's settled and we agree to meet at the tube station at 10:30. We all give Dan and Phil big hugs and thank them for coming over. I think moving to London was a good decision.
