"Peyton, I think you've been letting Kellin and Vic make you think that there's something here. You're going to be ok, I won't let anything happen to you." Oliver says and rubs my back as we all sit in the living room.
"Oliver, you're wrong. This isn't happening because of them or anyone of us, there is something here." I reply and rub my face with my hands and sigh.
"I just - I mean you know I don't believe in that kind of stuff Peyton." Oli sighs as well.
"Just try not to acknowledge it." Kellin says.
"Yeah, ghosts and stuff like when they scare people so just act like it doesn't bother you." Vic says and him and Kellin both nod their heads.
"Thanks for believing me you two." I say and half grin at them.
"Babe, don't be like that. I don't think you're lying, but I just think that there is probably a logical explanation for this."
"Whatever, I don't want to talk about it any more. So can we watch a different movie? I'm not really in the mood for a scary movie right now." I say and Vic hops up to put in a different movie.
"Of course!" he says and I start to relax a little bit more, but I'm kind of upset at Oli.
I know that he doesn't believe in the paranormal, but come on, I believe everything he says, why doesn't he believe me? And before now I wasn't really sure if I believed in all that stuff or not either, but that has definitely changed!
I decide to dismiss those thoughts and just watch the movie. Vic put in my favorite Disney movie, Aladdin, and I'm very grateful because this movie always cheers me up. I smile at Vic and he winks at me and Kellin rolls his eyes.
"God, could you be anymore in love with my sister?" He says to Vic quietly but both Oli and I hear it and I chuckle and Oliver rolls his eyes.
"Dude!" Vic says and punches Kellin in the arm and he laughs.
"It's not like she doesn't already know. You've made it pretty obvious." Kellin replies and chuckles.
"Just shut up, ok?" Vic replies and Kellin shrugs. Vic turns to look at me and I smile as his face turns completely red.
About 25 minutes into the movie I lay my head down on Oliver's lap and fall asleep.
// "Hello? Is anyone there?" I ask and slowly push the basement door open. I shine my flashlight down the old, creaky stairs and start to walk down.
I really shouldn't be here.
I get to the bottom of the stairs and hear something drag across the floor. I shine my flashlight all around and find the switch for the main light and turn it on. As I turn around I see a boy and he's just standing there. I'm frozen and it's like my feet are glued to the ground.
I really shouldn't have come down here.
The boy starts to walk toward me and I try to move, but can't. He gets about a foot away from me and just stares at me. He has piercing blue eyes and long black hair. He's actually kind of beautiful. He's wearing a long black coat and pants with boots and he looks like he's from the early 1900's or something. But what is he doing? Is he going to hurt me?
He takes something out of his coat pocket and folds it and puts it in my front pocket of my jeans, then he leans into me and... //
I wake up suddenly and sit straight up. What was that?! That was by far creepiest dream I've ever had.
I run my hand through my hair and shake my head. I'm on my bed so Oliver must've carried me up here. I can hear the boys talking downstairs so of course I start to listen.
"I'm just saying that if you two would've kept your mouths shut about how the house was 'creepy' then she wouldn't be all freaked out right now." I hear Oliver say and I sigh.
Why is he acting like this?
"Oliver, will you just listen to Peyton? She wouldn't make something like this up! You know her just as well as we do." Kellin says back.
"I know, I know. I just can't believe that something like this could actually be happening." I hear Oli sigh. "I know she wouldn't make this up, I just - I don't know. I just can't believe it."
They stop talking and I decide that now is probably a good time to walk out. I walk down the stairs and practically run down the hallway into the living room where the boys are.
Oliver smiles when he sees me, "Hello Sleeping Beauty. Have a good nap?"
"It was alright." Only, I had the most terrifying dream ever, but you know, all in a days work.
"Well good. We got the rest of the kitchen stuff unpacked while you were sleeping." He says.
"Oh, good! Thanks guys!" I say and smile.
"Hey, we should go get icecream or something. I think we all need a break from this house for a little bit." Vic says and Kellin hops up and throws on his jacket.
"I'm down!" Kellin says and I laugh and we leave the house.
This is going to be a much needed break.
