Louise POV
"Wow Louise. I'm surprised your dorm is this big. I heard they are normally the size of a mouse hole." Bob said setting my luggage next to my bed.
"Yeah I might have told the dorm mom to give me the biggest room or she will have snakes in her shower" I replied with triumph in my voice.
"I um.. Louise you can't do that." Bob said not surprised. I just shrugged it off and started looking through the closets and drawers.
"Awww. My little baby in her big girl dorm. So snazzy." Linda said dancing into the room. "Well Bobby our parking meter is only good for 2 more minutes. We gotta shimmy on home. Louise, you know where Gene's dorm is if you need him and Tina said she will some and visit you Wednesday." My mom looked around the room and then looked back at me. "Now baby it's okay to be sad."
"Ughhh! Just go. Your ruining my adult vibe I got flowing" I gestured my hand In front of my body to show how adulty I was being.
"Ha! Hear that Linda. 'Adult'." My dad was quite amused but I just let him laugh. Once I got my degree I am going to own a restaurant just as good as his anyways.
"Pft. Leave her alone Bobby. Bye Louise. Don't and start fires." She gave me a hug and started to walk out the door, "wait or fights. Oh and I already called the snake gang. So no cashing in favors on fellow class mates."
I smiled at her and walked back over to dad and gave him a quick hug.
"Bye guys. Love you!"
Then they left and I was finally alone in my room. I made my bed and laid down. I closed my eyes and KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK.
I walked over to the door and looked through the peek hole. I saw a girl so I opened the door.
"Who the hell are you?" I said.
"I'm your roommate. My name is River." She wouldn't look up from the ground and she refused to speak normal, all mumbles. She was a small girl. I could already tell I wouldn't like her. Her little dress and her bag full of school books. It looked like she was living in her high school years.
"Well sorry River, but I don't have a roommate." I smiled at her and slowly started to close the door when she stuck her foot between the door and the frame.
"I am pretty sure you do. My name is on the door." She looked up from the floor and pointed to the top of the door frame out in the hallway. She seemed like she was determined and I respect that so I gave her the benefit of the doubt and walked into the hallway to look.
Surely enough in sparkly red letters my name was in the left corner of the frame and in blue River's was on the right.
"Fine," I said pushing the door open for her to walk in. "But touch my stuff and you will find snakes in your shower."
I can't believe this. I told the dorm mom I needed a big room and no roommate. Ugh. Whatever I can't get kicked out on the first day. I'll have to hold off on the punishments for now.
