The Annual Purge

Part One

I stepped into my bedroom after washing my blonde ombre hair,(girl above). I wanted my hair to be curly so I put it into two plaits and loosen them a bit.

I turned the TV debating whether I should watch Love island or Teen Wolf with my boyfriend Dylan O'brien... He doesn't know that yet, but he's sexy as hell.

Half way through Teen Wolf just as it was getting to the good bit, my TV started to flash red and a loud siren came screaming through the speakers;

Warning: This is not a test, this is your Emergency Broadcast System. Announcing the commencement of the annual purge sanctioned by the U.S. Government.

Weapons of class four and lower have been authorized for use during the purge. All other weapons are restricted.

Government officials of ranking 10 have been granted immunity and shall not be harmed.

Commencing at the siren, any and all crime (including murder) will be legal for 12 continuous hours.

Police, fire, and Emergency Medical services will be unavailable until tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. When the purge concludes.

Blessed be our new founding fathers and America... A nation reborn.

"Oh jeez here we go." I said. I'm not that scared I've done this before, going out and stealing stuff but I have never ever killed someone. Yeah I hurt people in defence and look I'm still alive.

I ran into my closet and grabbed my black mesh snap back, black ripped jeans, black tank top and black and dark green checked shirt.

I quickly changed into them, then grabbed the garden garage keys dangling on the door in the kitchen.

Sprinting out onto garden I opened the door as quickly as possible and opened the box to the side of me. I rummaged through the newspaper from 2003 until I found my dad's gun.

I went back inside after looking all the doors behind as I went. I grabbed my flash light, lighter, water bottle and apple incase I get hungry.

I went back up to the bedroom to fill in my eyebrows, put concealer on and mascara.

I texted my mom and dad who were on a business trip out in England and won't be back in 2 weeks: Mom the Purge is happening, I'll try to stay safe. I found dad's gun in the garage. I love you xx.

The message wouldn't send because there was no signal. I locked the front door and not soon after the street lights went out leaving the moon illuminating the streets adding to the eerieness.

The streets were covered in blood and cars that has stopped in the middle of the road. The occasional one burning here and there.

On the street to my left, had a group of three walking away from me, luckily they couldn't see me but I still ran and hid behind cars.

You know those people in the movies like kung fu panda, don't judge I'm nearly 19 and I watch kung fu panda (the boys are 20). But you knew where they jump over roof tops and that, I wanna try it, i can sort of do gymnastics and I go running every other day so what can do wrong? I can die... That's what can do wrong!

I slide over the bonnet of some car, land on the other side and continue to run.

First to target I can never say no to free food, I could do multiple trips,if anything I'm going to do is restock the fridge tonight.

Someones parked there car horizontally in the road blocking off cars from getting through,idiot. I jumped up Putting one hand on top of the car swinging myself over.

Then a mini was in my way; I ran up the bonnet onto the hood, jumped down and rolled along the floor. My fun ending when I heard voices "dude there's someone up there!"

"you sure?" he said uneasily.

Shït shït! Shït! What do I do? Remain calm. I opened a car door, silently got then closed it shut again.

They came closer so I acted dead, i know such a good idea. They came round a white van, they were both wearing black except for the taller one who had black Nike shoes on with white stripes. I looked at each of their hands, they were both carrying guns and had a knife in the pocket.

As they got nearer, I noticed that they look the same only one had blonde highlights in his hair and the other had a blue streak. Both of then were well built and very attractive.

I snapped out of my thoughts and played dead hopefully they'll be dumb enough to realise I'm dead but they don't look stupid though...

So I slumped in my seat parted my mouth and stopped breathing as soon as they neared.

Nerves rushed through my body as the foot steps stopped, oh shit. "hey Gray she looks alive."

"nah, she's not breathing." 'Gray' responded.

"shall I shoot her just incase?" he really wants me dead doesn't he, Gray something before I actually suffocate.

"no people with find us come on. " thanks Gray. As soon as the footsteps stopped I let out a huge breath out and wiped away the sweat.
