Bethany p.o.v.

Last summer was probably the most eventful summer I've ever had in my life. Okay, sure, it's the only summer I can remember, but still. I bet none of you have been abducted, had your memory erased, then discovered that you have been fifteen for the past three hundred years. After all of that, I wasn't sure I would be able to fit in at camp. But, strangely, things have been great. I ended up learning how to paint, with some help from my half sister Isabelle and some kids from the Apollo cabin. I began to love capture the flag, and other events the camp had regularly. I made a lot of new friends and kept up with some old ones. Justin and I would usually talk sometime around the afternoon. Yesterday I went down to meet him, and there was a girl with him. She was tan and had brown hair that hung just below her shoulders. They were talking and walking just along the lake when Justin noticed me and waved. I waved and jogged down in my orange Camp Halfblood shirt and denim shorts.
"Hey, Beth."
"Hi."
"Bethany, this is my little sister, Leah Strong." She offered a small wave.
"Nice to meet you Bethany, Justin has told me a lot about you." Justin laughed, embarrassed.
"Well, it's nice to meet you too, Leah. I hope Justin hasn't bored you to death with stories about me."
"Oh, no. Who could be bored after that story? Anyways, I'd better get going. I'm supposed to be decorating the Athena cabin for Catherine's birthday. But I'll see you tonight."  Leah ran off and left Justin and I standing in the sand.
"So, how come I haven't met Leah before until now?"
"She on,y showed up at camp about a week ago with a girl from the Athena cabin. Chased down by a couple empousas."
"Yikes," I commented with my hands chives into my back pockets."
"Yeah, but she's okay. Loving camp and everyone here. She met Al and Danny yesterday," he said staring off  at the horizon.
"How'd that go." He shrugged.
"Danny warmed up to her pretty fast, but you know how Aleigh is." I pursed my lips.
"I don't think she likes me very much." He turned to face me.
"What? Come on, Beth, you're the most loved person in the camp, why wouldn't she like you?"
"She doesn't seem to like a lot of people. Almost as if she's mad at the world."
"Maybe she's is," Justin commented. I looked at him quizzically.
"What do you mean?" He looked as if he realized he'd made a mistake.
"Look, Bethany, don't let it bother you, Aleigh....she's just, rough around the edges." I could tell he wasn't telling the truth, not the whole truth anyway. I nodded.
"Okay."
"Hey, listen, we didn't have a super fun conversation. How about I make it up to you tonight. Meet me by the forest?"
"Sorry, I can't. It's sister bonding night with Isabelle. Can't miss." He nodded.
"No, I get it, family's important. Plus I wouldn't want you to cross the line by missing bonding night."
We both laughed slightly.
"So, I'll see you later?" He nodded.
"Yeah."
I turned and ran up the stone steps toward the Iris cabin.
