I adjust my glasses, trying not to show any fear. In this situation, it's best not to be reckless. I imagine myself bolting after the door with Ally in my arms. Then, the imaginary me suddenly has her throat slit because of May. That leaves Ally all alone, dying at a young age.

I click my tongue in annoyance, anger overpowering my fear. I answer, "fine, we'll play. What's the game?"

May clasps her hands together and squeals like a fangirl in a fandom. "It's one of my personal favorites! It's the one game I'm really good at. Too bad Bay died a little too early."

My eyes widen in shock. Ally trembling doesn't help any of this situation. I usually find comfort in her, but now it's vise versa. I spat, "you're disgusting."

May's smile turned into a deadly frown. Her eyes pierce through me and says, "I suggest you watch your mouth. I may be younger than you, but I have more power than you."

Chills run down my spine, scaring the living daylights out of me. I stutter, "f-fine, what's the g-game?" I curse myself inwardly.

May smirks deviously and emphasizes, "Hide and seek."

One.

I clutch onto Ally's hand, quietly tiptoeing up the stairs. I make sure to go as fast as I can, but it wasn't easy since Ally couldn't keep her pace.

     Two.

I look for places to hide. The bathroom isn't a good idea. There isn't anywhere to hide in the first place.

     Three.

Mom and Dad's bedroom is too risky. They wouldn't want any mess. Not even a single dust can land in that room. Otherwise, Ally and I would be screwed.

     Four.

Panic crawls up my heart, freaking me out. I look at Ally for suggestions, but she came up with nothing. At this rate, we're both going to be caught by May. If May finds out we're in the hallway, she'll think we're not playing at all.

     Five.

Ally's room wouldn't be an option. Everything in there is for her size. I wouldn't even fit under the bed or in her small closet.

     Six.

That leaves my room. I drag Ally into my room, leaving the door open so no suspicions are made. I quietly open my closet, not wanting to make a noise. The closet seems to fit both Ally and I. We're just going to have to make it work.

     Seven.

Three more seconds. I look at Ally, silently telling her to get in. Ally and I wouldn't risk a whisper to come out of our mouths. She nods her head and crawls carefully into the closet.

     Eight.

Immediately, I follow after her. I close my closet door carefully, trembling the slightest.

"Nine!" May shouts. "And ten!" I could practically hear the smirk in her voice.

I covered Ally's mouth to keep her from making a sound. She whimpers lightly, on the verge of crying. I hug her, silently letting her know we're okay.

"Ready or not, here I come!" May shouts.

My eyes widen in fear as I hear May's footsteps coming closer and closer to the closet. May's shadow of her feet became visible at the bottom of the closet door. Ally and I freeze at the sight, holding our breaths.

A minute has passed, and May slowly walks away. Then, silence; no footsteps. I let out a silent sigh of relief. I look at Ally to make sure she was okay. I feel her tremble in my arms.

Suddenly, the door opens with a jolt, startling both Ally and I. There, standing, is May.

     "I found you."
