Happy Birthday to Shadows-Unknown ! He requested a personal Final Eclipse scenario for his Birthday so here it is!
Shadows-Unknown POV

I'm number sixteen in line. There are twenty soldiers applying for this position. About fifty overall requested, but only so many actually got into the twenty here. Not that I see myself as a low skilled soldier, I know I'm good, but I'm lucky to have made it this far.

I watch yet another soldier throw a crooked blade. It misses the target. Their hand was shaking too much. They're too nervous. If they can't stay calm for a simple test of skill, there's no way they'll be any good for this unit.

He finishes up his test and looks at Unit 105. They whisper back and forth. The Angel of Death, crosses her arms and shakes her head once with an exaggerated eye roll. Her lips move as she says a few simple words. She's already made up her mind on this guy. Her eyes pierce him with one last glance before she looks back at Leone, The King of Lions. He returns a lighter gaze, but appears to agree with her decision. A bleach blonde girl seems to be trying to sway their opinions, but it doesn't work. The medic of the group tells her that he wouldn't fit in the Unit and that ends the conversation.

Seven more soldiers go. Three girls and four guys. Each one is brushed to the side. I start to feel the pressure heavily press it's hands down on my shoulders. I've wanted to join this unit for three years now. I inhale deeply and let out a relaxed breath. I'm ready. I know I can make it into Unit 105.

My information flashes onto the screen hovering above the testing area.

I take my first step out of the waiting line. My foot feels heavy. I feel anxious anchors weighing down my boots. No, there's no room for me to get all worked up now. I just have to relax. Forcing each step, I make it to the center of the stage set up. I face them with a confident face and a strong salute. I will not let them see the nervous butterflies stirring inside me.

Leone gives me a salute back, but it's much looser. He's starting to give up on all of us applying soldiers. None of us have fit their liking yet. "Proceed when you are ready," he instructs. Then he tiredly sighs and leans back against the judging table. He crosses his arms across his chest and stares me down, but his gaze is not nearly as intimidating as the Death Angel's. Her chocolate brown eyes pierce through my armor of confidence that I put on before walking out here. The rest of them aren't nearly as intimidating. Their stares hardly have an effect.

I pull my eyes off of Death's and approach the start of the course set up in front of me. This is my time to show what I've got. I look at the beam of light shining across the floor between two pillars. As soon as I step over it, the sensors will trigger the beginning of the course.

"Focus..., alright, I've got this," I breath out through slightly parted lips. The instant the tip of my boot trips the laser an HP forms directly in front of me. My heart leaps at the sudden appearance. I wasn't expecting one to turn up directly in front of me the second I start. I yank my sword from it's scabbard without a second thought. It's just reaching for it's weapon when I strike it's shoulder. It's arm shatters away into light while I attack again. I thrust my blade straight through it's stomach to finish it off. I stand there for a second to collect myself while it dwindles away into stars.

I'm not going to let this startling beginning ruin the rest of my test. I look straight ahead. A platform on the far end is my destination. There are several obstacles in the way including many HP's along the way. I sprint along the first clear stretch. Targets are set up here and there on the walls. Each target I see I run past, slicing in a spinning motion with my sword.
