The Agreement

Still Kathy's POV

"What is this Katherine? Why do you have to ruin our trust again" My mom scolding me, arms crossed and her foot tapping on the floor waiting for my answer.

"Oh, come on Mom, it's the last day of school, can't we at least have a lil bit of fun? And you told me you'll both be home by next week, why are you home so early?" I answered disappointedly.

"We have finished our appointments earlier than expected, but really Katherine? Another party? Shouldn't you be preparing for your SAT exams? You're going to be graduating soon, it's time to think more of your future rather than those parties." Mom saying without pausing for a breath.

While mom's talking nonstop I noticed dad just there, staring at the both of us, listening, which is more nerve-wracking.

"I'm talking to you Katherine Marie!" My mom yelled irritatingly.

"Yes mom, but I still have time to study after summer vacation, SAT exams are like months away, Sab and the gang and ofcourse me are gonna spend our summer having fun at the beach, I don't wanna be left out.." I said with puppy dog eyes.

My mom put her hands on her forehead, haha she's gonna give up soon.

"You talk to her William, I can't believe how she grew up like this" her hands gesturing to my whole body.

" Beautiful? Amazing? Fabulous?" I replied with my eyes blinking and a sheepish grin.

"Where have I gone wrong?" Mom exclaimed exaggeratedly.

"Katherine.." I gulped as to hearing my dad talk, once my dad decided on something, it's permanent, I hope that I'll still have Walter..fingers crossed please don't ground me.

"Y-yes dad?" I replied, not looking at his eyes.

"This is the 5th party you had in our house this month, you promised to us that you won't have one anymore.." Dad said with an emotionless look on his face. Sometimes it's way better if mom scolds me.

"Yes dad. But I promise this time, for real, I won't do it again." I replied holding my right hand up.

"Alright Katherine, I will allow you to still have your car and to be able to hang out with your friends.."

"Really?" I exclaimed happilly! Yes!

"What!? Are you serious William? You won't do anything?" Mom reacted, totally disagreeing with my dad's decision.

"But you have to make sure that you'll get a high marking at your SAT exam. Do you remember Aaron? Your godmother Cecilia's son? You'll have to ask him to tutor you every weekdays and the whole weekend is yours, your mom's right that you have to start getting serious with your life, since you're going to college soon. Do you understand the consequences Katherine?"

I stood there, speechless, what! A high marking!? There's no way I could do that! My highest grade is B, he knows that it's impossible for me to agree on, he's not just asking me to pass the exam, he wants me to have high markings! I don't understand, but, Walter, I have to say yes.

"Katherine? Do you understand?" He asks again, saying it firmly.

"Yes dad" I gently nod, seeing my mom smiling like she won an achievement at the corner of my eye. I told them I'll be heading upstairs coz I'm tired and they nod.

I closed the door, not letting go of the knob and stared at the picture on top of my charm bracelets collection. What am I supposed to do now? How is Aaron gonna help me when I know that I'm way smarter than him when we were younger. Oh well, guess I'll have to come by their house tomorrow. I put on my pajamas, got to my bed and sleep since it's gonna be a long day tomorrow.
