Taking their first step to the world unknown without the next destination will be but as long both trainers have Pokemon partners, everything will be fine.
"Natsume, do you want to take a break? We've been walking since we left home." Riley broke the silence with a question.
With a quiet response.."s-sure i guess. Where shall we go?" Looks both sides to see a place to relax and both noticed a clearing up ahead. Smoke was rising from the distance as if a battle is occurring so we both dashed to see what the commotion is.
"Chimchar use ember!" Volker shouted.
"Starly use quick attack" other trainer commands.
"Dodge then use scratch" Volker said.
"Starly use tackle" trainer shouts.
A cloud of dust engulfs both pokemon as they collided with each other after their trainers declared the movement. Soon the dust cloud fade away and saw Starly unconscious.
"Starly is unable to battle so the winner is Chimchar" trainer's friend announced.
Volker returns Chimchar back into it's pokéball and sees us standing in front of Eterna Forest entrance. He waves his hand to motion us to come closer and celebrate his victory of his 3rd or 4th consecutive streaks. So Riley and Natsume walks over to take the time and discuss their journey.
"How many times did you win against other trainers, Volker" Natsume questioned his bragging.
"About 4 wins after I dashed leaving both of you in the dust. What about you?"
"None...Riley and I just barely started" admitting the truth.
Volker scoffs then burst into laughter at our progress of becoming a Pokemon trainers. Riley turned around to find a decent human being who understands how he feels about Pokemon battles and how they are more than challenging each other for experience.
Natsume goes deeper into the forest to start her own training without being interrupted by her brothers and sooner than expected a Starly appears in front of her with glaring eyes as if we are the intruders. Without any hesitation, Natsume takes out the pokédex to scan the pokémon's data to record the starling pokémon.

Ability: Keen Eye
Hidden Ability: Reckless
Moves: Tackle, Quick Attack, Growl
Egg Moves: Steel Wing, Roost, Pursuit
"Sweet! A new Pokémon to add to my team! Let's go, Piplup!" she tosses her penguin pokeball onto the field until a figure appears within the flash of colors.
"Piplup use Pound" Natsume said.
Piplup charges directly to Starly and took some damage. Now it's Starly's turn to return the favor by using Quick Attack which made Piplup roll backwards to land on it's butt.
"Now use bubble, Piplup" Natsume calmly said while getting a pokéball ready to be thrown at the starling bird Pokémon. After blowing bubble was released and surrounding the weakened opponent, Natsume throws the ball towards Starly and immediately enters inside before escaping.
The pokéball shakes few times until a silver and white sparks shine to announce that Starly is secured inside. "Yes! I caught myself a new friend and partner!" jumping up and down full of joy and happiness of her first attempt of a battle.
Riley claps his hands for congrats to her success. A smile was widespread across her face and let's out Starly to give a nickname to fit the personality. "What should i name you?"
"How about Tsubasa?" Riley walks and starts petting Starly on its head to show affection.
Natsume tilts her head in confusion at the nickname "Tsubasa? Is there a meaningful words or phrases behind it?" Riley stops petting and tells that Tsubasa means 'Wing' in Japanese.
"I like it. It's fits perfectly on my Starly and matches her personality as well" kneeling down and smiles. "Nice to meet you, Tsubasa. Let's be friends"
Tsubasa takes steps and chirps to respond back happily before flapping her wings to fly onto your shoulders. Piplup goes on the other shoulder to rest on as well after all he does not like being in the pokéball for a long period of time.
Riley carries on his own way of becoming a researcher like Professor Rowan who's influenced by discovering new things about Pokemon evolution and growth of good relationships between people and the Pokémon spread across the world.
