Chapter 6

The Next Morning

Viv's POV

I woke up in Zaire's king sized bed with a blanket around me. I quickly took the covers off of me to make sure I still had my clothes on, I was praying to God we didn't do anything because that wasn't my intentions for coming over here in the first place.

"Thank God" I whispered to myself once I seen that I had on a pair of his basketball shorts and one of my tank tops I left over here. I was surprised he still had some of my stuff, it made me smile to know that he didn't want to give it back. I remembered that the night before all me and Zaire did was kiss. Which I was thankful for because we still had some unresolved issues. I got up and went to the restroom, after I got finished I washed my hands and walked towards the kitchen.

Zaire's POV

As I was in the kitchen cooking me and Viv some breakfast I heard her walking behind me, I turned around and smiled at her beautiful face while she looked around awkwardly.

"You know you can make yourself comfortable, Viv." I said with little laugh. She was acting like she had never been in my house before.

"Yea I know that but I would prefer not to." Viv said with a slight attitude, I had no idea why though.

"What is your problem now?" I asked she was starting to make me mad, I thought after last night we were back on good terms but I guess not.

"Don't think just because we kissed last night and I fell asleep here mean that we all good. You need to prove to me that you're going to stay loyal and actually be there for me. It's going to take more then one night for me to trust you again." Viv said with so much seriousness in her voice it shocked me.

"Damn, alright Viv I get it. I know I've made some mistakes but you at least have to give me a chance."

Viv's POV

Immediately after he said that I started to feel bad because I know I have been giving him a pretty hard time but I just can't help it after the way he treated me. But I will give him some slack from now on because no matter what I will always love him.

"I'm sorry Zaire, you just have to understand that it's not going to be easy."

"I do just give me some time to make it right." After he said that I just looked at him and nodded my head. I took a seat at the island that was in the middle of the kitchen and ate my breakfast in silence as Zaire finished his food. This was going to be a long day.

After I left Zaire's house I headed back to my house to get dressed for my shift at the hospital. I took a 10 minute shower and put on my purple scrubs. On the way to the hospital I made a mental note to call Kamora when I got home.

I swiped my card to get into the restricted area of the hospital and started my rounds. 10 minutes went by after helping patients I came across a pregnant women that had to be around 30 years old.

She had long black hair and pretty gray eyes. "Hi Milani, I'm Dr.Campbell and I will be your doctor for today, tell me what brings you here this afternoon?"

"Well I'm 36 weeks pregnant and I went to the bathroom this morning and noticed I was lightly bleeding, but at the time I didn't think much of it so I put on a pad and went about my day. But a couple hours later I started to have intense cramps so I came here."

"Okay let me just do an ultrasound on you real quick to check on the baby then I can help you from there."

"Okay"

I made Milani pull her shirt up so I could put the gel on her stomach. "This might be a little cold" I said as I proceeded to apply the gel to her stomach, her face cringed because of how cold the gel was.

I placed the wand on her stomach and started moving it around. I looked at the monitor and I could quickly detect that something was wrong with the baby. But I had to keep a professional face on and not worry the patient.

"Alrighty Milani I do see a problem with your baby but I will try my best to make sure your baby is perfectly fine" I said as I have her a faint smile.

Almost instantly Milani started crying, I felt so bad for her but I was going to help her to the best of my ability.
