I awoke to the first day of the rest of my new life.

It was strange to wake up in a different bed but oddly refreshing.

My attention averted at the sound of my mom's voice calling me from downstairs.

"Lauren bad impressions aren't a good way to start school"

I glance over at my alarm clock to see it display the time, it read "7:38"

I am gonna be late on my first day of school.

I jolt out of bed and go straight to my closet to pick a reasonably clean outfit.

Then I scramble to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face.

My mom reminds me that it is already 7:43.

I rush down stairs after completing my morning tasks and grab the breakfast that has obviously been waiting for me for over a half an hour.

My mom grabs her keys and purse and I secure my school bag around my back and we are ready to start the day.

"Go get in the car" My mom states "I will be there in a second, I have to grab the rest of your forms for registration."

I sat in the car impatiently continuing to glance at my watch.

"Where is she at it is already 7:49"

I see her exit the house and lock the door looking flustered.

She Got in the car and apologized for being late.

We pulled out of our driveway and drove as fast as we could (I'm surprised my mom didn't get a part in fast and the furious) and finally made it to the school at 7:54.

We both rushed in to the office.

Many faces looked my way but all I cared about was not being late.

I hugged my mom and told her I loved her and she told me in response "I love you too, and good luck you will need it"

I walked into the overcrowded hallway to get to my class as I heard, what sounded like Chases voice, calling me from the other side of the hallway.
