Title: Left Behind.

Kinda short, and I couldn't think of a good ending, but here, it's writing, loooool.

Getting requests done after this.

To say that Kagami was pissed, was a complete understatement. His heart had never once clenched so hard with bitter rage as it did the moment his sobbing girlfriend explained to him the reason of her misery. He wouldn't let his frustrations show in that moment, obviously, he had to cater to you before he even considered merely furrowing his brow in irritation.

You'd returned home from school that day, crying and shaking, and Kagami's initial thought was that you'd fallen out with someone, or someone had said something horrible to you. He wasn't actually that far off the mark.

He'd listened as you choked out the story of what happened,

-Flashback-

You stood waiting by the gate of your school, intent on waiting for (Best friend) so you could walk home together, as usual. She was punctual as always, and you greeted her with your brightest grin,

"Hey, loser~"

You snorted, but instead of getting your usual, sarcastic reply, her lips merely quirked up into a barely-smile. That alone was enough to tell you something was off with her. You frowned in concern,

"Hey... What's wrong?"

You asked cautiously, stepping closer, reaching around one hand to pat her back. You could see it in her eyes, she was going to cry.

"(Name), I-... I-I don't think it's best we're friends anymore..."

She choked out, and your eyes widened. Where the hell was this coming from?! You had to stop yourself clutching at her shirt from the sudden statement, and you felt your heart sink. You wished you could look into those mischievous, and sneeky eyes, and see the hidden intent of a cruel prank, but... Nothing was there.

"Why...?"

You asked, voice barely a whisper, and you retracted your hand from her back as if you'd been burned. She sucked in a deep breath, and looked you straight in the eye.

"Its just... My mom..."

Ah yes, her mother. The cruel, spiteful old hag who had hated you from day one, for no good reason. But surely, (Best friend) couldn't just be severing her knot with you because of her? She'd always been rebellious to her mother's wishes, what changed?

"I'm sorry, but... She says I'm not allowed to be your friend, she says you're a bad influence-"

"A bad influence?!"

You interrupted in shock, voice shaky from the onslaught of inevitable tears which were soon to come.

"How am I- I haven't... (Best friend), please, don't do this! Don't listen to her! Please, we've been through so much, you're like my sister-!"

"I'M SORRY!"

She cried out, interrupting you like you had done to her, her fists clenched, and you raised a hand to cover your mouth. Rivers of tears poured down your cheeks, and she slowly began backing away to leave.

"(Best friend)... Don't, come on, y-you don't need to do this!"

You had yelled after her, but she simply shook her head, and ran away, leaving you heart-broken, and completely devastated.

-End Of Flashback-

"I... Taiga, we'd been through so much together..." You whimpered into your boyfriends chest as he held you close.

"I know, (Name)," he murmured softly, chin resting on top of your head, thumbs drawing soothing patterns against your back. You were barely keeping it together, you wanted to scream, and thrash, and sob until your throat bled.

"When... Wh-When no one else was there, she always... On nights where w-we felt so done with the world, we would always cheer each other up, she... She was like my other half b-before I met you..."

He sighed, pulling back somewhat to gaze at your face; which was puffy, and red from intense sobs and tears. He offered a small, reassuring smile, and pressed a kiss to your forehead.

"I can't replace her, or what she's done for you,"

He stated softly, remembering that, it was in fact (Best friend) who had introduced him to you. He knew how deeply your relationship ran, and how, in your darkest times, she was your pillar of strength. He could only imagine the pain you felt at having that pillar torn away...

"But she's not the only person you have anymore, (Name),"

His deep, crimson eyes looked into your own, and you stared back. He was right. Unlike the time before you met Kagami, (Best friend) wasn't the only person in your life anymore. Through Kagami, you had met Kuroko. And all of the Seirin team, who had taken such good care of you. At their matches, you met the other members of the Generation of Miracles, who you found out to be an interesting, unique group of individuals.

You smiled a bit. You knew, and he knew, it would take time for your heart to heal over the damage of losing the one person you had relied on for such a long time. But as long as he was here with you, something in the back of your mind, told you it would be ok.
