i ran past people, tears dripping down my face. i couldn't stop crying. reaching the door step of the place i was forced to call home, i flung the door open and ran up the stairs, trying to get away from him. 'i'm going to make it i'm going to be safe just a bit more-' no. i cried louder as i felt a familiar hand grab my hair and yank me backwards. i thought that he would catch me but he moved out of the way, my body hitting the floor. my scream echoed throughout the mansion as my vision started to blur. i couldn't tell if it was because of my tears or if it was because i was going to lose my consciousness. i felt like i was light, i felt free. a small smile made it's way onto my face before everything went black.
