"Joshua oppa mom wants you downstairs!!!!!!" I open the door to my brother's room as I peek inside. I take a glance at Vernon who was looking handsome as always. 

"Alright. (Y/N), sit with Vernon for bit while I'm downstairs will ya?" he asks as he smirks at me. He obviously knew that I had a crush on him and he was trying to make me talk to him. I send him death glares before turning to Vernon and sitting down awkwardly next to him. It wasn't always like this actually.... We were best friends before I realized I had to stay away from him. I started to avoid him a week from today. 

All the reasons why:

1. He was the popular handsome guy at school.

2. I realized I had a crush on him and wouldn't be able to control myself.

3. I would be literally beaten if I got close to him.

4. Yet.... He was the only friend I had in school.... 

"Long time no see (Y/N). How's school?" he asks as he flashes a smile at me.

"Good." I say trying not to make anything obvious.

"Can I ask you a question?" he asks after seeing how uncomfortable I was responding to his talk he was trying to make to be nice.

"Sure.... I'll see if I can answer it for ya." I say relaxing a bit, knowing that no one around was there to see us talking to each other.

"Why did you start avoiding me?" he asks as he frowns and pouts at me. "Is it because of me being popular?" 

"So you admit so yourself that you are quite popular then?" I ask with a smirk.

"It might sound a bit cocky but everyone says it and there are too many letters in my locker to deny it myself." he says as he shrugs.

"OMG you're so proud of yourself Vernon.... ;-;" I say as I shake my head at him.

"But you still love me don't you?" he asks with a sly smirk on his face. For a second I felt my heart drop. But then I knew what he was doing. He was asking me in a friendly way. Of course.

"You wish." I say as I push his a little.

"See how better it is when we're off like this? Not caring about what other people say?" he asks bringing it back to reality. I stand up quickly, heading to the door but then he grabs my wrist and pulls me back. "You going to answer my question or what?"

"I can't. I have a lot of homework to do and you know that cause we go to the same school and is in the same class." I say as I try to get out of his grip. Unfortunately, he grew stronger before I realized.

"We could do it together. Put 2 brains together." he says suggesting me a solution to shorten time.

"You came to see my brother." I say shortly before heading for the door again.

"You don't get hurt by letting me work with you right?" he asks as he raises his eyebrow at me.

"Fine. Just today. And you will keep quiet about this." I say as he smiles at me brightly.
