[CHAPTER 2]
The walk to the supermarket was pretty interesting, if i could say so myself. As soon as I had walked out the front door, I straight away went back to fetch my skateboard. I was partly a tomboy, and seemed to not care about anything other than lazing around. I wasn't like the other girls who gossiped and only cared about what they wore or the guys that they dated; I wore converse, and couldn't be bothered to really care about what I looked like. My long dark brown hair was always down and almost never neat and my clothes only sometimes matched.
As I rolled through town to get to the shops, I also looked around to see what Seattle was like. There was a big skate park, which seemed to be perfect for me. There were guys on their skateboards everywhere, and surrounding them, stuck up girls who tried to get their attention by showing just a little bit too much cleavage and giggling like crazy. I had to chuckle as I passed them, and realized that I was so happy to not have turned out like one of them. For a second I wondered what my life would be like if I had turned out to be a complete girlie-girl. As I realized what I was thinking about I quickly shook the thoughts out my head and concentrated on the road in front of me.
It took me about 10 minutes to reach Wal-Mart, and as I got there I was shocked about how big and ginormous it was. I wasn't used to the big shops, since where I had lived before, in Denver, everything was smaller and much more reserved. I decided to stop thinking about my past, since it seemed to make me sad thinking about what I had left behind. I picked up my skateboard and jogged into the large black and red building. There were rows and rows of things to buy, and for a second I wasn't sure where to go for just the flour and the milk. As I walked past each aisle I stopped for a moment and looked at something that seemed to interest my mind, whether it was a piece of clothing, or pack of crisps. Since the music in the store sucked I stuck my earphones into my ears and blasted "Go Your Own Way" by Fleetwood Mac. It seemed to relax me and made doze off for a couple of minutes, wandering off into my own unique world. I was just about to come back to earth, when I felt something huge and concrete bash into me. I immediately ripped my earphones out of my ears and looked up at the large figure staring down at me. He seemed to be about my age and about 6 feet tall. Compared to him my 5 foot 5 self felt abnormally small.
"Excuse me? Could you get out of my way please?" He asked in a harsh and contemplated tone. As he ordered me to move, I stared at him with a shocked expression. When he noticed that I wasn't moving in any way, he stared at me with irritation in his eyes. "What? Are you deaf or something? I asked you to move out of my way." I could hear the annoyed tone that was coming from his mouth. Behind him, I noticed a couple of guys chuckling away like total idiots. I could tell that they were with him, since they were all wearing the exact same white and blue varsity jacket and whispering things about me in my direction.
"S'cuse me?" I blurted out with the most attitude that I had in me. "Who do you think you are? The king of the world? Have some respect. Jerk." He flinched at the last word, turned around to his friends, and started laughing. As he turned back to face me, I spotted the almost anger in his eyes. For a while we glared at each other straight in the eyes. I usually wasn't the type to give into anything, but I was just so shocked about how people could treat others the way he had just done. I could tell that he didn't know what to say, so instead of talking we both just stood there.
"You are definitely not worth my time." I said within a stern voice as I realized how stupid this was. I gave out a small provoking grin which seemed to make him even more frustrated and annoyed. As I walked away, I purposely bashed into him to push him out of my way. His friends still seemed to be chuckling out loud, but as soon as I gave them a deadly glare, they stopped and looked into a different direction immediately. I had never met such a jerk in my whole entire life, and I was glad I wasn't still standing in front of him because if I had been, he would have really quickly gotten a piece of me.
